Description

Oil trap for Iturbel gear. The present invention relates to a catching device for crank mechanisms, in particular for internal combustion engines, for the lubricating oil emerging from the push rod bearings.

It consists in the fact that sling rings are attached on both sides of the crank pin bearing of the push rod, and on the inside of the crank arms they have comprehensive catch rings with at least one outlet point at the location of the greatest centrifugal force, from which the caught oil is thrown into fixed catch devices in the crankcase becomes. These can be designed as a crank casing. In the crankcase, they can have outer and inner walls that are coaxial with the crankshaft axis, between which the drain oil is directed.

The oil emerging from the other journal bearing of the push rod can, for example, be conducted through bores in the push rod or through lines along the same into the catch rings on the crank arms. The invention aims that from the at the. Storage of the pushrod to catch the oil escaping. To prevent this oil from splashing around in the crankcase and thus to the moving parts, such as the pushrod and, in the case of double-acting machines, to the crosshead, in the case of single-acting machines to the piston and the inner surfaces of the cylinder got.

The crank and piston pin bearings of the push rod have to be lubricated abundantly because of the relatively high surface pressures, so that quite a bit of oil escapes from these bearings. If, in single-acting machines, this amount of oil is added to the cylinder lubricating oil, this lubricating oil mixture reaches the walls of the cylinder and, for example, in the case of compressors in the compression chambers. in the case of burners in the combustion chambers. This oil, which is partly finely atomized, can also form explosive vapors with the air in the crankcase.

The devices according to the present invention avoid these disadvantages, or at least reduce them to a very great extent. Furthermore, the lubricating oil, which would otherwise be lost by splashing around or penetrating into the cylinder chambers, is collected and can be reused, which significantly reduces the consumption of lubricating oil.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing. Fig. 1 shows a longitudinal section through the crank pin bearing of the push rod with the crank in the inner dead center; Fig. 2 shows a side view, and Fig. 3 shows details on a larger scale.

1 is the push rod. The oil emerging from its crank pin bearing flows under the influence of the centrifugal effect to the slinger rings 2, which throw it into the catch rings 3 sitting on the crank webs. On these catch rings: 3, drains 4 are attached at places with the greatest centrifugal force, which guide the oil into an oil catch device 5. These oil collecting devices 5 are attached to the base plate 6 and direct the oil into the oil sump 7 in the base plate 6.

The oil collecting devices 5 are provided with outer walls S and inner walls 9 which are coaxial with the crankshaft axis. The oil drains 4 open into the intermediate spaces 10 so that the introduced oil does not get into the area of the crank. 11 are the pipelines that guide the oil flowing off from the other journal bearing of the push rod, not shown, into bore 12 in the crank-side head of the push rod 1, from where it flows to the oil sling rings 2, which catch the oil emerging from the bore 12 and with it transfers the oil from the crank pin bearing into the catch rings 3.
