Brine feeding system for artificial ice rinks. The invention relates to a brine charging system for artificial ice rinks, in which a circulating device conveys the brine flowing to it from a brine reservoir through a suction line into the plate tubes of the ice rink, from where it can flow back into the brine reservoir through a return line.
The purpose of the invention is to prevent excessively large Kältever losses in the event of a sudden thermal break in systems of this type (solar radiation, foehn wave and the like) and thereby ensure the most even operation possible. For this purpose, according to the present invention, a secondary line, which connects the return line to the suction line of the brine rolling device, and a built-in adjusting device in the suction, return and secondary line are provided.
With the help of the latter, in the event of a sudden heat surge and strong cold storage in the brine tank, i.e. at a low brine temperature, the temperature of the brine flowing into the plate pipes can be brought to a level that is just sufficient by regulating the quantities of brine flowing through those organs in order to keep the ice surface hard enough for driving on.
In this way, in the event of a thermal breakdown, it can be prevented that only deeply cooled brine gets into the plate pipes by setting the brine flowing through these pipes to a temperature that is significantly higher than that of the brine in the storage tank, which causes sudden, prevent excessive cold losses from the plate tubes.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is illustrated by way of example and schematically. In the figure, 1 denotes the refrigerant compressor of a refrigeration system, 2 its condenser, 3 the reducing valve and 4 the evaporator of this system. The latter is built into a brine store 5. 6 be denotes a brine circulating pump which flows in through a suction line 7 brine from the container 5. The pump 6 conveys the brine into the plate tubes 8 (only one is shown) of an artificial ice rink, from where it flows back into the container 5 through a return line 9.
The return line 9 is connected to the suction line 7 via a secondary line 10 into which an adjusting element 11 is installed. In the latter, an adjusting member 12 is installed, as well as an adjusting member 13 is built into the return line 9.
The mode of operation of the brine charging system described is as follows: As long as the brine tank 5 can be stored, the setting element 12 can be completely closed, so that no brine is conveyed through the plate tubes 8, or the organs 12, 13 can only open as much ge be that through the pipes 8 a quantity of brine flows that is sufficient to prevent thawing of the ice surface. At most, a part of the amount of brine flowing through the return line 9 can be passed back directly into the suction line 7 through the secondary line 10, that is, bypassing the brine tank 5.
During normal cold consumption in the ice rink plate, that is, under normal operating conditions of the ice rink, the organ 11 is closed, while the organs 12, 13 are fully open, the amount of brine driven through the plate tubes 8 being able to keep the ice surface of the track in ge to maintain the desired conditions. If a heat breakdown is feared, then cold is stored in the brine tank 5.
If the thermal break then occurs, be it as a result of solar radiation, a hair dryer, warm rain and the like, then with the setting of the organs 12, 13 and with strong cold accumulation in the container 5, that is, at a low temperature, the one in this contained brine, at the plate tubes 8 suddenly a high loss of cold occur, since the brine would be heated from low storage temperature in these tubes 8 almost to the temperature of the plate environment, which would result in a rapid consumption of the stored in the container 5 would result.
In order to prevent this, the organs 12, 13 are now adjusted in the described system in the event of a sudden heat drop and the organ 11 is opened by so much that the quantities of brine flowing through the organs 11, 12 and mixing in the suction line 7 result in a brine temperature that is just enough to keep the surface of the ice hard enough for driving on. This temperature will be significantly higher than the brine temperature in the container 5, while it is still sufficient to keep the ice surface in a passable condition.
As a result, lower losses occur in the ice rink than in the case where 8 brine of storage temperature would flow through the pipes. With the help of the Nebenlei device 10 with built-in adjustment element 11, it is thus possible to ensure a more or less uniform operation in all atmospheric conditions; Above all, excessive cold losses on the ice rink can be prevented in the event of sudden drops in heat.
Instead of the pump 6, another device can also be provided which is able to circulate brine.
