Description

Flanschenspule.

Flange coil. Pulling the thread overhead from flanselia bobbins causes difficulties if the shaft and flange diameters are rather different. The obstruction of the running thread by the friction a, m upper flange of the bobbin becomes particularly strong when there are only a few layers of thread on the bobbin.

Disc coils are already known, the discs of which are removable (British patent specification no. 1209, 1911, and Swiss patent specification no. 1.10978). The limiting discs of the coil are not divided and can therefore only be removed as a whole.

It has also been proposed to attach a cover with a smooth polished system edge over the upper flange to protect the running thread before unwinding the threads from the standing disc bobbin.

The subject of the present invention is a flanged spool, one or both of which disks are divided into removable rings, whereby the diameter of the upper disk can be reduced during stripping.

The rings are expediently polished in their outer boundary surface in order to reduce the friction of the thread running off the flange edges as much as possible. This configuration of the bobbin makes it possible to reduce the upper boundary surface of the stationary bobbin as desired when pulling the thread overhead, so that the upper flange is no longer an obstacle for the thread to run off.

An exemplary embodiment is explained using the drawing.

Fig. 1 is a view with the upper ring removed; Figure 2 is a bottom plan view of the split disc.

The drawing illustrates a disc coil in which only the upper disc c has a removable ring f. The shaft is labeled a and the lower disk is labeled b. The removable ring f can be held in place by a thread, a bayonet lock or the like and sits on a smoothed bead d of the disk e. The thread slides on this bead when the ring f has been released and removed from the winding when it is pulled off.

rg is the bore of the spool shaft.

The spool discs can be in two or more parts. Wood, metal, plastics or the like can be used to manufacture the coils. The coils can also be made of different materials, for example the shaft and lower disk made of wood, the upper, split disk made of vulcanized fiber or metal.
