Au contraire, dans le cas de moteurs com- pound, les courants qui circulent dans les di vers circuits (schéma 9) sont: 1o le courant ii produit par .le moteur M fonctionnant en génératrice sur le circuit <I>T,</I> c, <I>b, a, M, T;</I> 20 le courant i' produit par le moteur 31' fonctionnant en génératrice sur le circuit M', <I>b, a, d, g;</I> 30 le courant i3 dû à la tension de la ligne dans le circuit<I>T, c, b, a, d, g;</I> 40 le courant I traversant les deux mo teurs compound placés en série;
Recovery equipment for trams. The present invention relates to recovery equipment for trams comprising electric motors with compound excitation, characterized in that the shunt inductors with their rheostat and the series inductors are constantly in circuit whatever the coupling of the motors, in either in series or in series, and also retain, from an electrical point of view, the same relative links with their respective armatures.
Thanks to this assembly, it is possible to switch without shocks from the series coupling to the parallel coupling and vice versa, both during operation and during recovery of the current and during short circuit braking.
In the accompanying drawings, given only by way of example: FIG. 1 is a general diagram of an embodiment of the equipment; Fig. 2 is a plan view of a mechanical positive dis for shorting a transition resistor to the position corresponding to the operation of the motors in series; Fig. 3 shows the same device in the position corresponding to the operation of the motors in parallel; Fig. 4 is the elevational view of a locking device, located on the controller, of a line breaker;
Fig. 5 is the plan view and shows the operation of the aforementioned device; Fig. 6 is a diagram of the circuit for mounting motors coupled in series and connected (fig. 7 and 8) according to the bridge method; Fig. 7 shows the circuit for mounting the motors after the first operation for parallel operation; Fig. 8 shows the assembly circuit with the two series motors connected in parallel;
Fig. 9 is a demonstration diagram showing the different currents flowing in the circuits of two combined motors connected according to the bridge method; The fi-. 10 is the diagram showing partially the circuit assembly of two compound motors supplied in series; The fia. 11 is a diagram of the circuit of the motors during the transition period between series operation and parallel operation; The fia. 12 is the circuit diagram of the two compound motors connected in parallel.
According to the execution example shown in fia. 1, the equipment comprises two compound motors M and M 'of which the armatures <I> I </I> and <I> I' have been shown, </I> the series inductors S and S 'and the shunt inductors H and H '. These motors are connected to the various parts of the equipment by electric current conductors F whose ends are connected to the keys of two controllers C and C 'if killed separately at each end of the vehicle to allow maneuvering in the usual way. at any one of these ends.
The current is supplied by a live cable or rail from which it is brought by a trolley T or by a rubbing device for an underground conductor to the main circuit P and by one of the conductors F to the controllers CetC '.
The equipment is completed on the motor side by a group of adjustment resistors Ii for the excitation of the shunt inductors, starting resistors D and a <B> of </B> transition resistor 0 for the passage of the running in series to running in parallel or vice versa. The switching on of resistor 0 can be carried out in any suitable manner.
To fia. 2 and 3, there is shown, by way of example, a contact -device placed on a controller shaft 1, which carries, on the other hand, in the usual manner, series of helically offset sectors coming to the known manner according to different positions of the shaft 1 to come into contact with the keys of the controllers thus establishing the connection between the various circuits. The aforementioned shaft is engaged in a metal hub 2 from which it is isolated by a sheath 3. On the hub 2 is fixed a drive finger 4, a sector 5 is fitted free, on this hub and has a limited housing. by the edges 5a and 5b, in which the drive finger 4 is housed.
The aforementioned sector can be put into contact with a fixed key 6 by means of the finger 4. The sector 5 is connected to one end of the resistor 0, and the key 6 to the other end of this resistor, from such that by contacting the sector 5 and the key 6, it is put in cort-circuit. resistance 0.
The equipment also comprises on the main power supply circuit P a line breaker B, in principle similar to those employed in certain cases with series motors. This breaker B is controlled by the controllers and is combined with an overvoltage relay U, connected to a secondary circuit S, in parallel with the supply circuit and thanks to which the current of the main circuit P is entirely cut off by the opening of the breaker B.
By opening, this activates via contact K a relay <I> L </I> closing the motor circuit on an absorption resistor A avoiding, as we will see below, an overvoltage. dangerous for engines. <I> N, N '</I> and Q, Q' platform switches and fuses are placed on the main P and secondary S circuits, enabling the incoming current to be cut off at the line breaker B.
All line breaker B and its <I> U </I> and <I> L </I> relays must be completed on the controllers by a device for locking this breaker. But while the line breaker usually employed with series motors must close in the controller's first operating position and remain in this position throughout the movement of the controller shaft in the direction corresponding to the acceleration of the vehicle, any movement in the opposite direction of the aforementioned shaft must cause the line breaker to open, which can only be closed again after the controller shaft has returned to zero to prevent the motors from racing. , in line breaker B, for compound motors, the opening and closing device must not, on the other hand,
intervene only between the. rest position and the position corresponding to series operation as will result from the description of the operation. For all the other positions, the closure must be held in place, whatever the direction of rotation of the controller shaft which, except for the aforementioned positions, varies the value of the motor field during each movement.
To fia. 4 and 5, there is shown, by way of example, an embodiment of a rusting worm in which on the shaft 1 of the controller is keyed a grooved pulley 7 on which is fixed a friction collar 8 provided with a protruding stop 9 and a part 10 able to come into contact with a stud 11 connected to the line breaker, the latter being arranged such that when the contact 10, 11 is established, the connection 10 ', 11' of the breaker (fig. 1) is produced, that is to say that the assembly is supplied. On the shaft 1 is keyed a cam 12 with two diameters connected by a ramp 13. Against this cam is pressed, under the action of a spring 14, a lever 15 with two branches 16 and 17.
This lever can oscillate around an axis 18 fixed .sur a projection 19 of the controller; the branch 17 of the lever bears against the stop 9 of the collar 8..
In the rest position, the different parts are arranged according to the line in phantom in FIG. 4. The end 16 of the lever 15 is then pressed on the small diameter part of the cam 12. By turning the shaft 1 in the direction indicated by the arrow F, contact is established between the part 10 and the stud 11. , the stop 9 assumes the position shown in solid lines in FIG. 4.
If we continue to turn the shaft 1, the ramp 13 of the cam 12 raises the end 16 of the lever 15. The end 17 of this lever goes down. And is placed behind the stop 9 carried by the collar 8 preventing any return to the rear as long as the end 16 of the lever 15 moves on the circular periphery of the cam 1.2. This engagement is of course valid for both directions of movement of shaft 1. It is only when the end 16 is lowered, that is to say when its position will correspond to the step in series that the end 17 will lift by releasing the stop 9.
We can therefore say in summary that a movable member controlling the line breaker is carried by the collar 8 provided with a stop 9, a stop or gane 17 coming to be placed on the path of this; stop and being commanded by the combiner when the combiner exceeds the position corresponding to the removal of the last resistance in the circuit of the shunt inductors.
Before describing the operation of the equipment object of the invention, we will first indicate with reference to diagrams 6 to 12 the process commonly used on series motors for the change from series operation to parallel operation. . We will deduce the drawbacks that this process would present in the case of engines, compound and we will then indicate, in the light of this description, the operation of the equipment object of the invention.
Figures 6, 7 and 8 represent the circuits carried out with an ordinary controller by the bridge method in the case of series motors; on these three diagrams the inductors L'1, UZ. and the induced MI, MZ of the motors are only represented. In diagram 6, the current is brought by a line T, the earthing is carried out at point g, the series connection of the two motors M 'and MZ is ensured by the bridge a, b, the contacts c and d are free to receive a contact. Diagram 7 corresponds to the first beat of a. transition by establishing contacts c, b and d, g, the current is then partly derived from the motors and partly following arrow f.
The current flowing in the circuit <I> T, c, b, a, </I> d, g is limited by resistors r 'and r2 arranged between points c, b and d, g. In diagram 8, the transition is carried out by removing the bridge a, b and by putting the resistances r 'and r2 in short-circuit; for the clarity of the figure, we have. simply removed these resistances.
On the contrary, in the case of compound motors, the currents which circulate in the various circuits (diagram 9) are: 1o the current ii produced by the motor M operating as a generator on the circuit <I> T, </ I> c, <I> b, a, M, T; </I> 20 the current i 'produced by the motor 31' operating as a generator on the circuit M ', <I> b, a, d, g; </I> 30 the current i3 due to the line voltage in the circuit <I> T, c, b, a, d, g; </I> 40 the current I flowing through the two compound motors placed in series ;
50 the currents i4 and i5 which are the currents of the motors in parallel.
Current 1 is the inverse of currents il, i ', i3 in the circuit <I> a, b. </I>
The currents i 'and i' produce a significant braking force, causing the vehicle to slow down, which will be followed by a sudden acceleration if the bridge is cut <I> a, b; </I> this cut will result in at an important arc due to the high intensity, the current.
When switching from parallel coupling to series coupling, the circulating currents remain the same, but I changes direction since the motors operate as a generator; a new significant braking force is then produced.
To remedy these drawbacks, the following arrangement has been made: the aforementioned resistor 0 is placed in the bridge a, b, this resistor is short-circuited during the series operation (diagram 10) by a connection a ', b'.
The series-to-parallel coupling is done in two phases: we first switch on resistor 0 and establish the connection of points c, b and <I> a, d, g </I> (diagram 11), then the circuits <I> a, a '</I> and b, b' are cut (diagram 12).
The parasitic currents circulating in the bridge are thus reduced; on the other hand, the motor currents i4 and i6 have the normal value.
In reverse coupling, parallel to series, resistor 0 plays the same role, but its action is prolonged so that there is a certain lag between the moment when the resistor placed off circuit is interposed in the circuit, then, short-circuiting for series operation.
The mechanical device placed on the controller shaft performing these various operations and described above, operates as follows: Sector 5, assumed to be in contact with button 6, is in the operating position of the motors in series, it is that is, as indicated above, mains 5 short-circuits resistor 0 (diagram 10, fig. 2).
The motors therefore operate in series. When it is desired to switch to parallel operation, the shaft 1 is rotated. At the start of its stroke, the shaft 1 drives the finger 4 alone which moves freely between the points 5a and 5b. During this time, shaft 1 has rotated all the components in order to prepare the connections of the devices for the parallel operation of the motors. It is only at this moment that the finger 4 abuts against the edge 5a and if one continues to turn the shaft 1, it drives the sector 5 and leads it to the position indicated. in fig. 3.
Resistor 0 is then switched on successively (diagram 11) and then switched off, thus carrying out the assembly shown in diagram 12. Conversely, on return, sector 5 and, consequently, resistance 0 are only requested. when all the devices are connected for series operation.
Thanks to this device, the. transition resistor 0 is therefore short-circuited only when the assembly is in series.
The installation described -is arranged for speed variations ranging from ten to thirty kilometers per hour for an average voltage of five hundred and fifty volts in normal operation. These variations are obtained by modifying the inductive field produced by the shunt windings of the motors. This result is obtained by interposing, for various corresponding positions of the controller, in the circuits of the aforementioned windings suitable values of the resistances R indicated above. The defective equipment has big advantages, it allows an economical start and a significant recovery.
It is known that, in the case of compound motors supplied at five hundred and fifty volts, the starting of these motors intended to achieve the above-mentioned range of speeds zero to thirty kilometers, is carried out using ordinary procedures on resistances D up to ten kilometers per hour corresponding to walking with a maximum shunt field, this speed change from ten to thirty kilometers per hour taking place by reducing the shunt field.
But if, as shown, instead of using a single compound motor, the series armatures and inductors of two motors are connected in series, the shunt inductors and the series inductors of which are constantly in circuit and keep, from the electrical point of view , the same relative connections with their respective motors, the armatures and the series inductors of these motors are then supplied at two hundred and seventy-five volts, the shunt inductors remaining at five hundred and fifty volts.
The minimum speed corresponding to the maximum excitation field will then be halved, that is to say that starting on resistors will be carried out up to a speed of only five kilometers per hour. (In the example shown, starting is performed on resistance up to a speed of two and a half kilometers per hour; this resistor short-circuited makes it possible to reach a speed of five kilometers.) reduction of the field then makes it possible to accelerate up to the maximum speed of ten kilo meters per hour.
To go from ten to thirty kilometers per hour, the two motors are put in parallel at five hundred and fifty volts in the field.
If at any time the speed of the tram increases as a result of a slope so as to exceed that which would correspond to the values of the starting resistance or of the field at that instant, the motors will operate as generators by virtue of the known property. compound motors.
For speeds between two kilometers five hundred and five kilometers per hour, due to a slope, the current thus supplied has an insufficient voltage to be recovered. It is therefore absorbed by means of the absorption resistor A, and the speed falls as a result of the braking thus produced at. two and a half kilometers.
Above five kilometers and up to ten kilometers by playing on the field, we recover the current produced. This current is returned in the line. Starting between five and ten kilometers is therefore economical.
Above ten kilometers, the motors being in parallel at five hundred and fifty volts, the recovery is normally done whenever the vehicle speed exceeds that corresponding to. the value of the engine speed.
It can therefore be seen that the equipment described allows recovery over a very wide range of speeds from five kilometers to maximum speed, whether on start-up during slowdowns or in normal operation, while in the equipment usual this recovery is only possible during normal walking, that is to say above ten kilometers per hour.
The resistive force of the motors can also be applied to braking, the regenerative-braking operation being made stable by the differential action of the shunt and series windings of the motors.
When the voltage reaches a dangerous limit for the motors, and this fact can occur either in the event of an interruption between the car and the line, or in the event of a break in the general supply circuit or in the event of the inability to use the current recovered, during recovery operation or even for certain controller positions when it acts on the line breaker, relay U is put into action reacting on the line breaker and by contact K on relay L and the resistance _4 avoiding, as has been said above, a dangerous overvoltage for the motors.
On the other hand, line breaker B cannot be actuated if the L relay has accidentally remained so engaged. It is understood that the invention is in no way limited to the embodiments shown and described which have been chosen only by way of example. Thus we will not depart from the invention by applying the device to equipment with four combined motors, which can be coupled by arranging the four motors in series, by placing in parallel two groups each comprising two motors in series, or by mounting the four motors in parallel.
