Umgekehrt erhält man
EMI0002.0017

Volumen in m3/kg; F - Durchflussquerschnitt in m2; 2v = Durchflussgeschwindigkeit in mjSek.
w : absolute Strömungsgeschwindigkeit in m/Sek.

Method and device for conveying, compressing or diluting gases and vapors and for conveying liquids. The known centrifugal wheels with two rows of blades work with pressure differences in such a way that the propellant jet should act as an injector, and at the mixing point it generates a negative pressure below the prepress pressure and thus sucks in and entrains the delivery jet. At best, the effect that is brought about is equal to that of the known suction jet method, which experience has shown is only so low that it can be used economically.
With the method according to the present invention, however, a large increase in pressure can be achieved. If it is used, for example, to compress air, it can be used to increase the pressure in one stage, up to a maximum of 3.606 times the pre-stage pressure. When used for pumping liquids, a pressure increase can be achieved in one stage which is twice the delivery head of the conventional centrifugal pump running under the same operating conditions.
This is first made possible by the fact that in the new method the conveying jet is not sucked in and entrained, as in the known suction jet method, but its dynamic pressure level is used for work performance. In all cases, contrary to the previous case, the propulsion jet provides the delivery jet with a discharge pressure that is statically higher than the preliminary pressure. In all cases, the propulsion jet significantly lowers the compression pressure of the respective stage, generally to such an extent that the conveying jet can still overcome it.
While with the previous suction jet method the propulsion jet does all the work, with the present method the conveying jet also works, and there is: suction, but only pressing takes place, the new method can operate as a pressure jet, and the device as a pressure jet apparatus, respectively. Pressure jet compressor, respectively. Pressure jet centrifugal pump are designated net.
The energy gain compared to the suction jet process results from the fact that the propulsion jet orifice pressure does not have to be lowered as low as before, namely below the prepress pressure, so that the centrifugal wheel can rotate specifically more slowly than before. The work process of the pressure blasting process that can be represented in the time is therefore very different from the previous suction jet process.
The following physical consideration serves as an example of how the method works for elastic liquids: If the ratio between the delivery pressure and the propulsion jet outlet pressure is chosen to be the same as the ratio between the propulsion jet outlet pressure and the compression pressure, the outflow velocity is in the range of the pressure difference of the delivery jet. the jet and propulsion jet are the same size.
If p0: preliminary stage or delivery jet outlet pressure, p: propulsion jet outlet pressure, p1: stage or compression pressure in atm., Then according to the above assumption p0: p = p: p1, or the propulsion jet outlet pressure:
EMI0002.0011
That means: The propulsion jet orifice pressure is equal to the square root of the product of the preliminary stage pressure and the compression pressure. Most advantageously, the prepress pressure is maintained up to the discharge of the delivery jet, because then the greatest increase in pressure occurs.
Each numerical value of the ratio p0 / p = p / p1 has a certain outflow velocity between the propulsion jet orifice pressure and the preliminary stage, which can be calculated in a known way. In the high pressure area, the following equation applies to the outlet pressure p for gases from well-rounded mouths according to Zeuner:
EMI0002.0015
where k has a special value for each type of gas and is to be regarded as constant with sufficient accuracy within wide pressure limits.
For air, p = 0.5266. p1 (2) In the high pressure area this ratio p / p1 = 0.5266 is constant.
In the low pressure area the same changes in the limits 1 to 0.5266. Conversely, one obtains
EMI0002.0017
1.899 = approx. 1.9 atm. (3) From the respective numerical value of the above ratio, analogous to equation 3, the common orifice pressure for each stage and, through repeated application, the respective compression pressure can be determined.
Provided that the conveying jet flows out with the corresponding speed of sound and a pressure of 1 atm in the mouth level. has what is possible by a suitable choice of the conveyor blades, the same will have a propulsion jet orifice pressure of around 1.9 atm. can overcome. At a propellant muzzle pressure of 1.9 atm. For the same reason, a step pressure of
EMI0002.0031
atm. than he ster stage pressure. The same applies to all the following levels.
This also results in the following table for air for the delivery and propellant jet orifice pressure, as well as the compression pressure of a pressure jet device consisting of four impellers of the same diameter, which at a constant temperature of 30 C by water cooling with an absolute exit speed of around 819 m / Sec. rotates.

The pressure blasting device can therefore individually, as well as for the entirety of several consecutively connected impellers, always reach the square of the step pressure of the ordinary centrifugal wheel with the same operating conditions.
The number of pressure levels can be selected as desired. The same relationships apply to all gases and vapors, except that the correct value must be used for the constant k for each type of gas or vapor.
In the case of the dilution of gases, the final pressure is the outer atmosphere and the initial pressure is the vacuum to be achieved.
If it is a question of liquid conveyance, it is advisable to make the absolute exit speed of the conveying and propulsion jet in the outlet, taking into account the frictional resistance, at least equal to the outflow speed, which corresponds to half the delivery head as the static pressure head to the outflow. The propulsion jet orifice pressure is then equal to the pressure that prevails at half the delivery head; while the delivery jet outlet pressure is made as similar as possible to the preliminary stage pressure.
Compared to the usual centrifugal pump, the Druckstrahlzentri fugal pump will, as already mentioned, achieve a pressure increase in one or more stages that makes up twice the delivery head of the ordinary ones running under the same operating conditions. Furthermore, with regard to the dimensioning of the pressure jet compressor for gas compression under the conditions assumed above, it should be noted that the delivery respectively.
Propeller blades must be selected so that the aforementioned muzzle pressures and speeds are achieved, whereby the continuity equation must generally be fulfilled as follows: G. v = F. w, where: G = flow weight in kg per second; v - spec. Volume in m3 / kg; F - flow area in m2; 2v = flow rate in mjsec. If there is no intermediate withdrawal, the flow weight is constant for all stages.
The flow weight of the propulsion jet must be at least so large that the kinetic energy of the centrifugal jet mixed from the delivery jet and propulsion jet at the mixing point is equal to or greater than the isothermal compression work that is required to achieve the given To compress the flow weight of the delivery jet from the prepress to the respective stage pressure. Taking into account the conditions just mentioned, the respective cross-section of the blade channel can be determined.
As the dimensions of the vane channels of the pressure jet centrifugal pump are concerned, these channels are to be selected, similarly as before, in such a way that the orifice pressures and speeds described for this purpose are achieved with a constant flow weight or flow rate. hot constant flow rate: F. w = flow rate = constant, if denotes F: cross-sectional area of the blade channel in mê.
w: absolute flow velocity in m / sec.
From this, the associated cross-section of the blade channel can then be determined for each value of w from the given size of the flow rate. It should also be taken into account that the flow weight of the propulsion jet must be at least so large that the kinetic energy of the centrifugal jet mixed from the delivery and propulsion jet in the outlet is equal to or greater than the kinetic energy that is required to achieve the given flow weight of the To promote the conveying jet from prepress to the respective stage pressure.
The device for carrying out the new method consists of a centrifugal wheel with two rows of blades, between which the partition does not extend to the periphery, so that a common opening is created. The rows of blades can be arranged differently to one another. The one that forms the conveyor jet is with the pre-stage, the other that generates the propulsion jet. connected to the compression space; the diffuser wall encloses the impeller on both sides and forms a closed channel. The spiral can be arranged one or more times on top of one another, or wound next to one another, and it can also have a straight continuation.
The drawing represents several Ausfüh approximately examples of the device.
Each of the devices shown can be used for both an elastic and a drip liquid medium; only the dimensions of the blade channels must be calculated for each case, as stated above, so that the effect occurs according to the method. In devices for compressing elastic liquids, each housing is expediently provided with a water cooling jacket in order to maintain the isothermal state. If in the following "liquid" it is said and not particularly noted that only a dripable liquid medium is meant, then what has been said also applies to elastic media.
Fig. Yes and 1b show in two sections a pressure jet apparatus in which the liquid (in Fig. La) enters the channels between the conveying blades 1 on the left. These blades 1 sit on the blade wheel disk 2, which is wedged and full on the shaft 3, and carries the propellant blades 4 on the opposite side. In the axial direction, both rows of blades are closed with a wall 5 which runs as close as possible to the machined inner surface of the housing 6 along. The shaft 3 is passed through the housing 6 on the right side and by means of stuffing box abge seals and stored accordingly outside the stuffing boxes.
The diffuser 7 forms a closed channel, the walls of which enclose the impeller 2 at points 9a on both sides so that there is no direct connection with the central pressure space 8 in the radial direction. Rather, the latter has only at the end of the diffuser spiral connection with the stage pressure chamber, respectively. with the diffuser 7.
The diffuser channel can be seen from Fig. 1b, which is the side view of a Ge housing half of the apparatus. The end flange 9 of the diffuser encloses the two openings of the diffuser 7 and the pressure space 8 and is used to connect the pressure pipe. A straight extension of the diffuser channel could also adjoin this flange.
Fig. je shows an axial section of a pressure jet apparatus which differs from the first one only in that the central chamber 10 and the propellant blades 4 are connected to the pressure chamber by the special branch pipe 11. The tube 11 branches off from the end of the diffuser, or, as indicated in FIG. 1b by dashed lines, from the tube connected to the flange 9.
Fig. 2 shows a partial axial section of a two-stage pressure blasting device with one-sided inflow and two impellers of the same diameter. The diffuser channel 15 opens into the pressure chamber 16 between the two impellers 13 and 14 and the diffuser channel 17 ends in the pressure chamber 18.
If such an apparatus is used to convey drippable liquid, then each impeller conveys to the same delivery height h, so that the total delivery height of this apparatus is 2h, the absolute exit speed of the centrifugal jet mixed from the conveying and propulsion jet being equal to the outflow speed the liquid column
EMI0005.0006
corresponds. This two-stage device therefore provides twice the delivery head as the ordinary two-stage centrifugal pump running under the same operating conditions.
If such an apparatus is used to compress air and the centrifugal wheels rotate, for example, at such a speed that the resultant of the same and the relative speed in the direction of the blade, i.e. the absolute exit speed of the conveying and propulsion jet ( see scheme in Fig. 5) of the two wheels in the confluence about 319 m / sec. is, the first wheel 13, which draws from the atmosphere, generates a pressure of 3.606 atm. in the case of isothermal compression with water cooling to 30 C in space 15, with the propellant jet orifice pressure being 1.899 atm. falls off. In the second wheel, this pressure is 3.606 atm.
to 13.00 atm. increased while the jet orifice pressure was 6.848 atm. amounts.
Fig. 3 shows a partial axial section of a two-stage pressure jet device consisting of two symmetrical halves with inflow on both sides and with the impeller diameter increasing in the direction of the flow. Each Diffu sorkanal 19 opens into the pressure chamber 22 between the two impellers 20 and 21. The diffuser channels 23 also end in the pressure chamber 24 between the impellers 21. The mode of operation from stage to stage is analogous to that described above.
Fig. 4 shows an axial section of a pressure blasting device, with a bilateral flow. Its impeller 25 on shaft 26 mounted outside the housing carries a symmetrical conveyor blade ring 27 on both sides, and above it a respective driving blade ring 28 and runs in the middle of the housing 29, which is also composed of two symmetrical halves. The conveyor jet channels are laterally through the not reaching up to the circumference around casings 30 closed, which narrow towards the shaft towards the inflow pipes 31, which on both sides seal the pressure chambers 32 against the housing 29. Labyrinth seals can still be arranged here, but these are not shown.
The propellant vane channels deposited above it are closed on the outside with a wall 33 which runs as close as possible to the machined inner surface of the housing. The pressure chambers 32 are arranged symmetrically and connected to the end of the common diffuser 34.
Fig. 5 shows a partial axial section and one perpendicular to the axis of rotation, the section with an external velocity parallelogram, a pressure jet apparatus with a bilateral inflow, in which the conveyor and propellant blade ring are next to each other on the same side. The appa rat is symmetrical. It has an impeller 35, which runs in the middle of the housing 36 and carries the conveying jet channels 37 on both sides and the propulsion jet channels 38 on the same side, both of which are closed laterally by a wall 39.
The latter narrows towards the inflow pipes 40 for the conveyor blades, which each seal on the outside against the housing. If necessary, labyrinth seals can also be attached here. The inflow to the propellant vane channels takes place through the slot holes 41, which are present on both sides in the wall 39. The blades are curved forward and, as can be seen from the section perpendicular to the axis of rotation, mounted in such a way that the conveying jet can penetrate into the common orifice within the centrifugal wheel, depending on its velocity pressure.
The housing can, for example, be designed like that shown in FIG. 4, the end of the closed diffuser channel being again connected to the pressure chambers 42 by separate connecting channels. The Schleu derrad of this device is only partially occupied by blades. Such Schleu derräder come into consideration where it is a question of generating very high pressures and small delivery rates.
