The invention relates to a radial fan with an inlet guide plate to increase the pressure and the delivery rate without increasing the noise. Such radial fans are used to convey gaseous media, preferably to convey the combustion air from oil and gas burners.
Attempts have been made for many years to increase the pressure of radial fans. It is known to shift the inlet opening of the spiral-shaped housing eccentrically and to cover part of this eccentrically displaced inlet opening (see DO 1 428 057), to provide the inlet nozzle coaxial to the impeller with flattened areas that differ from the circular cross-section (see DO 1 807 385). or to partially cover the suction opening coaxial to the impeller with a suction guide (cf.
hierza D.O. 2 027 936). With the designs known up to now, pressure increases in the desired height cannot be achieved with all radial fans.
The invention is based on the object of increasing the pressure and the delivery rate without increasing the generation of noise.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the length of the inlet guide plate protruding into the drum rotor is not greater than 98% of the inside diameter of the drum rotor.
In a first embodiment, a longitudinal edge of the inlet guide plate encloses an angle with a plane containing the drum rotor axis and touching the housing tongue which is not less than 450 and not greater than 135.
In a second embodiment, a longitudinal edge of the inlet guide plate encloses an angle with the inlet-side end plate of the housing which is not less than 10 and not greater than 900.
The advantages that can be achieved with the invention are, in particular, that a very large increase in pressure is achieved for the given impeller size and that the P-V characteristic is stabilized, and that this design itself is cheap to manufacture. An embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawing and is described in more detail below:
Figure 1 shows the view of a radial fan according to the invention, consisting of spiral housing 1, inlet baffle 3 with radial length 8, housing tongue 4, drum rotor 5 with suction opening 6 and wheel center or hub 7, connecting line 11 from wheel center 7 to housing tongue 4 and angle 12 between the longitudinal edge of the Inlet baffle 3 and connecting line 11.
Figure 2 shows the section through a radial fan according to the invention, consisting of spiral housing 1 with housing front plate 2, inlet baffle 3 with axial installation length 9, drum rotor 5 with suction opening 6 and axial extension 10, wheel center or hub 7 and angle 13 between the longitudinal edge of the inlet baffle 3 with the inlet side Face plate 2.
