La fig. 1 est une vue en élévation d'une. première forme d'exécution; La fi-,. 2 en est une vue en plan; La fin, 1. 3 est une coupe longitudinale faite suivant la ligne III-III de la fig. 2; La fig. 4 est une vue de profil corres pondant à la fig. 1; La fig. 5 est une coupe transversale faite suivant la ligne V-V de la. fig. 3; La fig. 6 est une vue en plan, par des sus, d'une deuxième forme d'exécution, le vo let de protection étant ouvert;
Watch case. The present invention relates to a watch case, the glass of which is protected by a resistant shutter which must be moved to allow the time to be read on the dial, and is characterized in that at least the body of the shutter is mounted externally to the housing, and so that it can slide on it in translation, in antagonism. with elastically deformable return means and that the movement of this flap can be achieved by applying the fingers directly to it.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example only, two embodiments of a housing according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view of a. first form of execution; The fi- ,. 2 is a plan view; The end, 1. 3 is a longitudinal section taken along the line III-III of fig. 2; Fig. 4 is a side view corresponding to FIG. 1; Fig. 5 is a cross section taken along the line V-V of the. fig. 3; Fig. 6 is a plan view, from above, of a second embodiment, the protective cover being open;
Fig. î is a corresponding view, the shutter being closed; Fig. 8 is a view, on a larger scale, with the upper part of the housing removed; Fig. 9 is a corresponding longitudinal section taken along line IV-IV at the end ,. 8; The end,. 10 is a cross section taken along the line V-V of FIG. 9; Fig. 11 is a cross section taken along the line VI-VI of FIG. 9.
In the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 6, the case is constituted by a body 1, the two large longitudinal sides of which are extended by tabs 2 which allow the case to be attached to a bracelet.
At its lower part, the body 1 receives a part 3 movable angularly around the hinge 4 and forming the lower base. This back is pierced with a hole 5 for the passage of the winder.
The top face of the housing has a protruding part 6, in which the glass 7, or other transparent material is crimped, which is covered by a movable flap 8. This flap (fig. 4 and 5) follows the transverse profile of the housing. on which it can slide to completely release, in its maximum displacement position, the glass and the dial it covers. The translational movement of this shutter takes place in antagonism with elastically deformable means constituted by springs 9 arranged in recesses 10.
The shutter is provided with pins 11 which bear on the lateral faces thereof (FIG. 5) and act on the aforementioned springs; these pins move in grooves 12 (fig. 1 and 3) made on the corresponding sides of the housing and compress the springs, the elasticity of these allowing the shutter to return to its rest position as soon as the pressure exerted ceases .
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 6 to 11, the housing is formed, on the one hand, by a lower base 13 comprising side walls 16a slightly offset inwards to form a base 13b and, on the other hand, by an upper part 13a forming a frame which fits on the side walls 16a to come to rest on the base 13b.
Inside this case, the constituent elements of which have just been indicated, is arranged a casing made of several elements set out below and in which the chronometric mechanism controlling the hands of the watch is placed. This envelope has a lower bottom 20 and an upper part 20a forming a frame which is provided with an upper flat wall 14a extending outwards on the long longitudinal sides (fig. 10 and 11) and inwardly on the small transverse sides (fig. 8).
The lower back 20 rests on the lower back 13 of the case and the short sides of the upper part 20a are extended in the plane of the part 1ta by tabs 16 flaps downwards. right angle and which are applied against the. internal face of the sides 16a, screws 22a ensuring the fixing as shown.
The upper part 20a is extended on its upper face and vertically by edges 18 surrounding the dial of the watch and which receive a glass 19.
As can be seen from FIGS. 10 and 11, the springs 9 for returning the protective flap 8 are arranged inside tubular parts 21 which are mounted in the housings .30. These parts 21 are fitted in these housings and fixed by their ends to the small sides 16a of the bottom 13 of the housing by screws 22 which likewise serve to fix the upper part 13a on the bottom 13 of this housing.
Each of the tubular parts 21 comprises, at: its upper part (Fig. 8), a light 21a and two lights 21u (Fig. 8). The light 21a is intended to allow the wise step and the displacement of the pins 11 of the flap 8 of protection. The openings 21b are arranged at the end parts of the parts 21 and are intended to allow the introduction, inside these parts, of the springs 9 of return pel.
These are supported, on the one hand, in the bottom of the tubes 21 and, on the other hand, on the lugs 1.1 of the shutter 8, the travel of which is limited by pins 23, which pass through the tubes 21 diametrically. (fig. 9 and 11). The protective flap 8 comprises on two of its sides edges 8a in brackets which allow its longitudinal guidance by bearing on two of the vertical walls of the edge 18 and on the part 14a. These brackets 8a are extended by slides 8b which move, as shown in FIG. 10 and 11 and which carry the drive lugs 11. This arrangement makes it possible to maintain the protective shutter 8 without excessive play.
The drive lugs of said shutter are vertical. To assemble the shutter 8, it suffices to engage the lugs 11 between the springs 9 which carry a contact part 9a and the pins 28.
The flap 8 bears on the part 14a and is held, in this position, by the upper bottom 13a of the housing. As will be seen in fig. 9, the edges 8a of the shutter 8 are omitted at 8c to allow the latter, at full stroke, to take the open position indicated in phantom. The upper part of the flap 8 forms a slight projection which facilitates its operation by direct action of the fingers.
The winder 24 is placed in a recess 24a provided in the lower back 13 of the case. The periphery of the winder protrudes a little from the bevel of the case; ample pressure of the finger accompanied by translation suffices to train it.
Tabs or yokes such as those indicated at 2 in the first embodiment, may be provided on the housing.
In known cases, the flaps are guided inside the case, which necessitates the use of external operating buttons and kinematic systems such as articulated levers for transmitting movement to the flaps.
The housing described makes it possible to considerably simplify the construction, to reduce the cost price thereof, to improve the appearance thereof and to facilitate the operation of the shutter.
