Process for the preparation of a chromating dye of the anthraquinone series. The main patent describes a process for the production of an ear dye of the anthraquinone series, which is characterized in that 1-amino-4-ha.logenanthraquinone-2-sulfonic acid is reacted with o-aminophenol at temperatures below 100 ° C. with the possible exclusion of air .
It has now been found that in the 1-amino-4-halogenanthraquinone - 2 - sulfonic acid, the halogen atom can be replaced by the 2-aminophenol 4-sulfonic acid residue if the components are removed from air as much as possible, e.g. B. in a nitrogen atmosphere, at temperatures below 100 C can act on each other.
It is useful to carry out the reaction in aqueous solution with the simultaneous presence of weakly basic acid-binding agents, such as sodium bicarbonate, neutral sodium sulfite and the like, and in the presence of cuprous salts as catalysts. Cupric salts and strongly basic, acid-binding agents are unsuitable as the o-aminophenol used is attacked by these bodies.
Example: 10 parts by weight of 1..Amino-4-bromoanthraquinone-2-sulfosäLire, 5 parts by weight of sodium bicarbonate, 10 parts by weight of 2-aminophenol-4-sulfonic acid and 1 part by weight of gupferchlorür are in 140 parts by weight of water stirred and slowly heated to 80-85 in the absence of air. After about two hours, the condensation product formed has deposited in blue needles. This is filtered off and possibly purified by dissolving it from hot water.
The dye is thus obtained in blue needles, which easily dissolve blue in water and dye wool from an acid bath in blue tones which, depending on the strength of the dyeing, turn from gray to black when re-homing.
