The process for producing a wetting agent and the wetting agent produced according to this process. So-called wetting agents were proposed in large numbers in the past in order to increase the utilization of the acidic, neutral and alkaline baths for textile goods.
Such agents may be mentioned: the sulfonic acids of alkylated hydrocarbons with condensed benzene nuclei, such as isopropyl naphthalene sulfonic acid, di-isobutyl naphthalene sulfonic acid and isopropyl tetrahydro naphthalene sulfonic acid.
The present invention relates to a process for the production of a wetting agent and an agent produced by this process.
It has been found that the effect of the above-mentioned wetting agents is increased quite significantly by adding a class of compounds commonly referred to as terpene alcohols.
As such, the following can be used: alpba-terpineol, liquid terpineol, para-mentbanol, and fenehylalkobol. The terpene alcohols can either be used technically pure, for example pure alpha-terpineol, or mixed with other closely related compounds.
For example, the commercially available liquid terpineol, which contains approximately 95% alpha-terpineol, can be used in the same manner as alpha-terpineol.
For comparison, it was found that a 1% solution of isopropyl naphthalenesulfonic acid in water causes a piece of filter cloth of a given size and strength to sink in about 4.2 seconds, while an equally strong solution of a wetting agent prepared according to the present invention , soak an equal piece of the same cloth in 1.8 seconds and make it sink in the liquid.
The following examples, in which parts by weight are given, are intended to explain the process according to the invention for producing the wetting agent.
Example1: Mix 50 parts of the sodium salt of abietin sulfonic acid with 35 parts of liquid terpineol and 15 < / B> Share water.
Add 70 parts of water 0.7 parts of this mixture and leave a cotton strand weighing 10 grams in this bath for a short time at 400 B> C soft, the dyeing of the previously unwound and dried garries with Anthrene Violet BNX (color index 1163) is more even and stronger than the dyeing of untreated yarn.
Example 2: The same ingredients are mixed as in example 1, only 35 parts of para-menthanol are used instead of 35 </ B> Parts of liquid terpineal.
Example3: The same ingredients are mixed as in Example 1 , except that 50 parts of the sodium salt of isopropyl are used - ilaphi, 'haliiisulfosäLire in place of 50 parts of abietinsulfosa (ires sodium for the mixture.
If this wetting agent is added to a dye bath made from anthrene violet BNX (color index 1163) in such an amount that a 10% solution results, the discoloration on cotton in this bath is uniform and strong while those with similar baths without wetting agents are weak and unequal.
The ratio of the terpene alcohol to the stilfonated hydrocarbon with condensed benzene nuclei, which was given in the above examples as 70: 100, can be changed to a large extent. A ratio of 25: 100 is not too weak and a ratio of 100: 100 is not too strong.
The best results are achieved within these limits, but the agents are effective if they are also mixed in different proportions. It, has been shown that it is most advantageous to add 0.5- Add l '/ o of the wetting agent, but these limits can also be extended to 0.1 to 5%.
