Patentiert im Deutschen Reich vom S. Oktober 1938 anPatented in the German Reich on October 5th, 1938
From French patents 804 221 and 807 424 it is known, textile goods, in particular those made from regenerated cellulose or from cellulose esters and ethers, in the manner too matting that this is treated with matting baths that contain urea and formaldehyde or soluble urea-formaldehyde condensation products, such as mono- or dimethylolurea, and contain acid. Under the influence of the acid, insoluble, pigment-like condensation products are formed during this treatment, which fix themselves on the textiles at the moment of their creation. It is necessary that the matting baths are used immediately after their production, since the excretion of the insoluble products sets in very quickly. The condensation products once excreted namely no longer have an affinity for the textiles and their presence in the matting baths causes disturbances, e.g. B. dusty matting can be obtained.
Ein Ablaufenlassen der Bäder unter solchen Verhältnissen, besonders wenn man aus irgendeinem Grunde mit längeren Flotten gearbeitet hat, istThe surprising observation has now been made that, despite the noticeable instability of the aforementioned matting baths, they are still used for working on standing baths can be. Examination of the baths shows that with that caused by the precipitation The dilution of the baths using the condensation products gradually slows down the reaction to such an extent that after some time Time, d. H. no more eliminations take place within a practically remarkable period of time, although the baths are not exhausted with regard to their content of pigment formers. A Drain the baths under such conditions, especially if one is out of any Basically has worked with longer fleets is
enthalten, sowie so viel Säure, daßassociated with significant material losses. This deficiency can be remedied to a very large extent by using standing baths.
The new procedure is designed in such a way that one starts out from baths which contain urea and formaldehyde or water-soluble condensation products of urea and formaldehyde, and so much acid that
Soll die Mattierung wieder aufgenommen werden, so wird dem Bade die nötige Menge Säure wieder zugegeben und dann weitergearbeitet.xo the baths a weak, but clearly congo- • have an acidic reaction, and that the textile material to be matted is now in these baths treated until it has reached the desired degree of matting, then removed the section and a new batch of matting, with the matting bath new amounts of urea and Formaldehyde or a water-soluble urea-formaldehyde condensation product and acids can optionally be added. For some reason you want the matting process interrupt, the matting bath is neutralized by adding alkalis. If the matting is to be resumed, the bath is given the necessary amount of acid added again and then continued working.
Das neue Verfahren eignet sich sowohl fürThe new process is suitable for both
gefärbtes als auch für ungefärbtes Textilgut.dyed as well as undyed textile goods.
Das Färben kann auch der Mattierung folgen.Dyeing can also follow matting.
For a certain degree of matting, the duration of the matting process varies Factors dependent. By increasing or decreasing the concentration of the matting agent or the acid, or by lengthening or shortening the bath, can do this more quickly or slower matting can be achieved.

After 3 hours, the artificial silk is strong and matted to be washable. For a second batch of rayon yarn, 0.6 kg of the above-mentioned equimolecular mixture is added to the matting liquor and another 10 kg of rayon rayon is added. This thread section also shows a strong matting after a running time of 3 hours. The matting liquor can be used for further matting, with an addition of 0.6 kg of the equimolecular mixture per 10 kg of viscose rayon and, if necessary, of acid. Will the matting. work is interrupted, it is advisable to neutralize the liquor with sodium carbonate.
This immediately interrupts the condensation reaction. Before going back to work the matting liquor must then return to the initial acid and urea-formaldehyde concentration to be brought.
Die Kunstseide ist nach istündiger Behandlung gut und waschecht mattiert.4 kg of dimethylolurea are in 501 Dissolved water at 70 °, then cooled to 20 ° and treated with water at the same temperature set to 2001. In this bath 10 kg of viscose rayon in strand form are left during Run on the reel for 15 minutes and add 3.2 liters of 36% hydrochloric acid. The rayon is after one hour of treatment, matted well and washable.
The matting bath is now mixed with ι kg of dissolved dimethylol urine, goes with 10 kg of viscose artificial silk and let it run again for ι hour. The material has a strong, washable matting. For other batches of artificial silk to be matted, you do this the same amount of dimethylolurea, and acid can optionally also be added will.
In 801 liquor, which contains 0.32 kg of urea and 0.481 of a formaldehyde solution, which per liter Contains 360 g formaldehyde, and 1.281 hydrochloric acid Contains 36%, 1 kg of viscose rayon is left on the reel for 1 hour at 20 ° to run. The artificial silk treated in this way is heavily matted. For matting on standing The matting liquor is bathed in 0.1 kg of urea and 0.161 of the formaldehyde solution followed up. In this bath, 1 kg of viscose artificial silk can again be used with the same success to be matted.
After matting on the reel runner for one hour, rinsing and drying the artificial silk shows a very strong matt effect. For the following game of viscose silk jersey one makes a supplement of 6 g of monomethylolurea per liter of matting liquor and 2 ecm hydrochloric acid 36%. Used instead of 10 g of monomethylolurea per liter only 5 g, the matt effect is weaker. Recommended when matting yarn it is advisable to add only 1 ecm of hydrochloric acid to the make-up bath.
Die nach einer Stunde Mattierungsdauer gespülte, neu-10 kg of viscose silk crepe are matted on the reel skid at 20 "in 4001 liquor, which contains 3.5 g of monomethylolurea and 20 ecm of 36% hydrochloric acid per liter. The after one hour matting duration rinsed, newly
Verwendet man an Stelle von 3,5 g Monomethylolharnstoff je Liter 5 g Monomethylolharnstoff, so erhält man einen starken Mattierungseffekt.neutralized and dried rayon shows a medium matt finish. Before entering into the following batch Viscosekunstseidenkrepp are employed the bath per liter of 1.5 g monomethylolurea and ι ecm hydrochloric acid 36 ° / 0 ig to and matted in the same manner as described. If 5 g of monomethylolurea are used instead of 3.5 g of monomethylolurea per liter, a strong matting effect is obtained.
