To hang up the electrical air cables, one looped around these flat straps, which in turn were carried by means of wire hooks on a wire rope attached to a fixed rod. ) Although the aerial cable had a wide air position ; the necessity to use two parts for each installation point of the cable, but it was a disadvantage.
However, a move was made to bend the cable carrier made of profile rabbit so that both the cable could be stored in them and the cable itself could be attached to the carrying cable. These cable carriers, however, had the technical part that they jumped at the worker sitting in the car or standing on the ladder by squeezing them together and injuring them or the lead sheath of the cable.
The attachment to the suspension rope made difficult. They also offered the soft lead sheath of the abel, because of the inevitable oscillating movements of the same, too small a support, leading to its damage.
According to the invention, these disadvantages are avoided in that the cable carrier receives a rhombus-like center piece which forms part of a cylinder and serves as a support for the cable. From this go at its two most distant, diagonally opposite points in the direction of the support cable, two arms, the free ends of which are in the form of hooks suitable for embracing the support cable, one of these hooks being bent obliquely in the longitudinal direction of the support cable .
The drawing illustrates an exemplary embodiment from the new aerial cable carrier. FIG. 1 shows a body made of sheet metal which is used to manufacture the new cable carrier - the arms extending from the rhombus-like center piece are intended to be partially broken away; FIG. 2 shows the finished cable carrier in an end view, while FIG. 3 shows it from the side.
The rhombus-shaped center piece a is, as FIGS. 2 and 3 show, bent so that it forms part of a cylinder. Two arms b, e, whose ends are bent over to hooks bi, ci, are located at two positions of the center piece a that are diagonally opposite and most distant from one another. The inner narrow longitudinal edges of the arms b and o go, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3 , with arcs in the middle piece a over. The two hooks are designed in such a way that they can be placed on the suspension rope.
As FIG. 2 shows, both hooks can be provided with a slight crank immediately below the supporting rope of such a type that they encompass the rope by about 1800 . The one hook ei is also, as shown at c2, slightly bent in the longitudinal direction of the support cable; the aim of this is to prevent the aerial cable carrier from shifting on the suspension cable.
As FIGS. 2 and 3 show, the edges a1 of the middle piece, which are directed at right angles to the aerial cable, are bent slightly downwards so that they do not get into the lead sheath. cut into the cable. Below the contact point of the aerial cable, the middle piece a: has one or more holes a2 through which water can flow off, which sometimes settles between the aerial cable and the middle piece. The edges of these openings a2 are advantageously bent downwards so that the water can drip off more easily. The remaining water residue quickly evaporates therein.
The difference in shape of the two hooks bi and ei and their large mutual distance make it easier to put them on the wire rope.
