Beispiel <I>1:</I> 1 Gramm-Mol 2,3 - Oxynaphthoesäure.
Process for the production of a condensation product. It has been found that a new condensation product of the formula
EMI0001.0002
obtained from 2,3-olxynaphthoic acid and 1-amino-3-nitrobenzene if 1 mole of 2,3-oxynap®ethoic acid, 1 mole of 1-amino-3-nitro®benzene and a reducing agent are allowed to act on one another in such a way that the reducing agent is the N0, group,
of the benzene derivative is reduced to an N132 group, and that the 2,3-oxynaphthoic acid acylates an amino group of the benzene derivative.
The new condensation product forms a light-colored powder that easily dissolves in caustic alkalis. It can easily be applied to the fiber and converted into a red dye by treating it with nitrous acid and acid-binding agents.
Example <I> 1: </I> 1 gram-mole 2,3 - oxynaphthoic acid. 1 gram-mole of 1-amino-3-nitrobenzene is introduced into one liter of töluene and a mixture of 60 g of phosphorus trichloride and 60 g of toluene is added at 50 to 60 g. It is heated on the reflux condenser for so long. until no more hydrogen chloride escapes.
The reaction product is then introduced into dilute soda, the toluene is distilled off by steam, the residue is filtered off and washed successively with mineral acid diluted with water and again with water. The condensation product is then introduced into one liter of 60 to 65 "water and gradually mixed with 350 g of a 61% strength sodium sulfide solution. The reduction product formed dissolves. The new condensation product is filtered and isolated by acidification.
The reduction can also take place in another way, for example in an alcoholic solution with hydrochloric acid and iron files. Example <I> 2.- </I> <B> 1 </B> gram-mole of 1-amino-3-nitrobenzene is converted into m-phenylenediamine by reduction with iron and hydrochloric acid. The 1; 3-diaminobenzene thus obtained is then mixed with one equivalent of 2,3-oxynaphthoic acid.
This mixture is entered in <B> 60'0 </B> g of toluene and then slowly mixed with a mixture of 60 g of phosphorus trichloride and 60 g of toluene at 50 to <B> 60. '</B>. The mixture is then boiled at the reflux until no more hydrogen chloride escapes, an aqueous solution of brine is added and the toluene is chased away with steam. The residue is diluted to about 10 liters with hot water, boiled, filtered, dried and ground.
