Description
Verfahren zur Darstellung eines nicht färbenden Thioderivates des Phenols. Das vorliegende Verfahren betrifft die Herstellung eines nicht färbenden Thioderi- vates des Phenols, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man Phenol mit Kalkmilch und Schwe fel erhitzt, die erhaltenen schwerlöslichen Caleiumsalze der Thioverbindung mit Soda umsetzt, von der abgeschiedenen Kreide ab trennt und das leichtlösliche Natriumsalz der Thioverbindung aus der Lösung isoliert.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 190 Teile technische Karbolsäure werden unter gutem Rühren mit 56 Teilen Kalk, 160 Teilen gepulvertem Schwefel und 150 Teilen Wasser am Rückflusskühler so lange gekocht, bis die Entwicklung von Schwefel wasserstoff nachgelassen hat, was zirka nach 30 bis 50 Stunden der Fall ist. Die Tem peratur der Reaktionsmasse bleibt während der ganzen Kondensation auf<B>100'</B> C. Am Schluss der Reaktion gibt man der Schmelze unter gutem Rühren 100 Teile calcinierte Soda und 300 Teile Wasser zu, kocht noch 1 Stunde und filtriert von der gebildeten Kreide ab.
Zwecks Isolierung des entstan denen Thioderivates wird die Lösung einge dampft und zuletzt im Vakuum getrocknet.
Das erhaltene Produkt ist ein braungelbes Pulver, sehr leicht in Wasser löslich und kann ohne weitere Reinigung zu Beizzwek- ken verwendet werden.

The present process relates to the production of a non-coloring thioderivates of phenol, characterized in that phenol is heated with milk of lime and sulfur, the sparingly soluble calcium salts of the thio compound are reacted with soda, separated from the deposited chalk and the readily soluble sodium salt of the thio compound isolated from solution.
<I> Example: </I> 190 parts of technical carbolic acid are boiled with good stirring with 56 parts of lime, 160 parts of powdered sulfur and 150 parts of water on the reflux condenser until the evolution of hydrogen sulfide has subsided, which is about 30 to 50 hours is the case. The temperature of the reaction mass remains at <B> 100 '</B> C throughout the condensation. At the end of the reaction, 100 parts of calcined soda and 300 parts of water are added to the melt with thorough stirring, the mixture is boiled for a further 1 hour and filtered off of the formed chalk.
To isolate the resulting thio derivative, the solution is evaporated and finally dried in vacuo.
The product obtained is a brown-yellow powder, very easily soluble in water and can be used for pickling purposes without further purification.
