Watch case. The subject of the invention is a watch case in which the edge delimiting the dial opening has an outwardly protruding shoulder ring which forms the seat for a watch glass placed over it with inwardly jumping edge perpendicular to the watch glass plane.
1, 2 and 3 of the drawing is an embodiment of a part of a watch case according to the invention. shown in a cross section.
According to FIG. 1, the glass hoop 1, that is to say the part of the clock case 3, which is otherwise only indicated to a small extent, delimiting the opening of the dial 2, is provided on the outer side with a groove 4 running all around. The neck ring 7 delimiting this groove on the inner side serves as a seat for a watch glass 5, indicated only by thin lines in the drawing, which has an inwardly protruding edge 6 perpendicular to the watch glass plane, with which it is slipped over the neck ring 7. This watch glass is preferably stuck on using water-insoluble adhesive so that it forms an absolutely watertight seal for the watch case on the dial side.
According to the embodiment shown in FIG. 2, the watch case ring 1 itself is provided on the dial side along the edge delimiting the dial opening, on the outer side with an attachment ring 7 delimiting an outwardly open channel 4. This forms the seat for the slipped-over edge 6 of the watch glass 5, which jumps inwards perpendicular to the watch glass plane. If the watch glass is formed from a set of glasses, it is known to contract somewhat over time and is there at the inner circumference of its edge the outer circumference of the shoulder ring 7 is pressed.
The watertight closure of the watch case on the dial side is also guaranteed for this reason.
In Fig. 3 an embodiment is shown, in which the watch case (or the bezel) 1 on the edge delimiting the dial opening has an outwardly freely protruding shoulder ring 7 over which the watch glass 5 is placed with its inwardly projecting the edge . In this example, there is no groove on the upper side of the watch case.
The watch cases described have be standing watch cases opposite, in which the glass is inserted into a groove inserted on the inner edge of the bezel, the advantage that no such precise processing of the watch glass is required to attach this watertight.
