Cooling device for electric traction vehicles.
Recooling is required for electric traction vehicles with oil transformers and traction motor fans. of the transformer oil in the known designs is a relatively expensive and heavy fan group, especially when it comes to large outputs.
If the coolers are built without motor fans, that is, with natural cooling, they will usually be much heavier than those with artificial cooling and fan groups. It is now advisable to first suck the cooling air of the traction motors through the transformer cooler in order to suppress the transformer fan. There. however: this cooling air is preheated considerably before it enters the drive motors, which means that the drive motor power is significantly reduced if the amount of air is not significantly increased.
According to the invention, the conditions can be improved in that the air of one or more low-pressure fans is sung through the oil recooler.
In the accompanying schematic drawing, two exemplary embodiments of such a cooling system are shown in a cross section of the locomotive, 1 means a drive wheel set of the locomotive, 2 the associated drive motor. 3 is t the fan of this drive motor, the drive motor is not shown. 4 is the dry cooler for the transformer oil, which is circulated by an oil pump (not shown) through the cooler 4 and the | Transformer (not shown) is driven. This cooler is shown, for example, as a tube cooler. 5 is. a low-pressure fan shown as a screw fan and its drive motor.
The air of this ven tila. tors can also be used advantageously for cooling resistors, reactors and any auxiliary transformers that may be present. These devices, which are not shown, can for example be arranged in the roof attachment, in the longitudinal direction and on both sides of the drive motor 6. The arrangement of this apparatus. te in there, cha. The attachment also has a positive influence on the center of gravity and thus also on the ability of the vehicle to run.
After the air of the fan 5 has cooled the aforementioned resistors and coils, it flows through the blinds
7 of the Dacha. essay into the open. The low-pressure fan 5 is advantageously as high as possible, the motor fan 3, on the other hand, as low as possible so that the heated air is conveyed to the outside by the fan 5 and the drive motors receive the coolest possible air. As a result of the very low pressure head and performance, the price and weight of the low-pressure fan group will be small, especially if there is a screw for this. ubenventila. tor is used.
In the example of FIG. 1, the air of both the fan 5 and the fan 3 is through the blinds 8 arranged in the locomotive walls a. ngesa. ug; all air drawn in must pass through the cooler 4.
In the example of FIG. 2, the oil recooler r is only connected next to the upper part of the jalons, so that the engine cooling air can flow through in the lower part of the same without preheating. As a result of the difference in specific weight between the warm air flowing to the low-pressure fan 5 and the cold engine cooling air, these two air flows will not be significantly mixed.
The increase in the cost of equipment as a result of the additional low-pressure ventilation device, which consists of one or more fans. nn, is mostly offset by the savings in resistors, inductors and possibly auxiliary transformers that are possible as a result of the ventilation. The dry coolers 4 are advantageously placed inside the blinds so that they are not directly exposed to the heat of the sun. This placement has the further advantage that the cooling tubes can be made very thin-walled because they are not. are exposed as when they are placed outside or under the locomotive box.
