Le support 1 est muni d'un disque 12, mon tré séparément en fig. 3, et dans lequel est taillée une rainure 13 ayant la forme de celle que l'on veut creuser dans le disque du gramophone. 14 est une cheville portée par la burette 5 et engagée dans la rainure 13.
En saisissant la poignée 15, on peut faire tourner les burettes 4 et 7,, ainsi que la, pointe à tracer 9, autour de l'arbre 3; en même temps, ces trois pièces, guidées par la cheville 14, qui se déplace dans la rainure 13, coulissent par rapport à cet arbre 3; il en résulte que la pointe à tracer décrit dans le disque du gramophone une rainure semblable à la rainure la, mais plus grande.
