-Si pour une raison quelconque, le niveau le plus haut dans la nourrice a étant atteint, le flotteur d est relevé, le clapet double e est appuyé sur le siège cal' de la chambre cas, et il y ,a interruption de la communica tion entre le réservoir et la nourrice a.; la pompe d'alimentation f fonctionne en court- circuit parce qu'elle puise dans la nourrice a elle-même;
Device for supplying heating installations with heavy oils. The invention relates to a device for supplying heating installations with heavy oils.
She has. for the purpose of ensuring great regularity of operation of these heavy oil heating installations and to avoid flooding by the continuation of the supply in the event of the burner or burner ceasing to operate.
According to the invention, the device comprises a feeder and two pumps intended respectively to supply this feeder and the device for use, these pumps being respectively arranged in such a way that they can. be short-circuited, a double valve controlled by a float for the normal or short-circuiting of the pump feeds the feeder, a drawer for the. normal or short-circuiting of the feed pump -of the user device, and a means integral with the spool for blocking the line for supplying the liquid to the nurse.
The device may include a means for returning the coming liquid to the nurse. leaks from the feed pump - of the appliance - of use, a filter could be interposed between the tank and the feeder, another filter could be interposed between the feeder and the appliance of use.
The drawing shows schematically, by way of example, in vertical section, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
The purpose of the device is for example to feed, using a liquid fuel contained in a tank under charge, the burner of a heating device.
A nurse a. Is established in such a way, in terms of material, shape and dimensions, that it comprises: in its lower part a small cal chamber provided with two valve seats d ', </ B > a @ oo, two openings a and each closed by a buffer. One of these openings a. -is used for the intro- ductiozt in the nurse of a certain quantity of liquid which allows the priming, so to speak, instantaneously of the pumps which will be discussed below. The other of these openings a is made in the axis of the drawer which will also be discussed below.
A lever is articulated on a support b. two unequal branches c. On the largest branch of this lever c, a float d is fixed. To the. smaller branch of this lever c, is suspended by a link which is articulated to it, a double valve e housed in the small .chambre as.
There is, at a height appropriate to its characteristics, a first pump f, for example a pump. pallets, to feed the. manifold a. This f pump draws fuel, heavy oil, from chamber d and. the delivery into the manifold at a \. Under the manifold a is provided another chamber g into which the pipe h emerges which comes from the tank not shown containing the liquid fuel , and this room g -est in communication with the small room a, 'by the seat a1 of the latter.
A second pump i, for example a gear pump, is placed at a height @ and at a distance appropriate to its characteristics, to supply the user apparatus, in this case a burner j of apparatus. heating reil. This pump i draws the liquid from the manifold u at a3 and delivers it to the burner.
Then, advantageously, in the manifold itself has a kind of cylinder Ic provided at an appropriate level with a nozzle Ic 'in which moves a kind of drawer 1 comprising on its underside a plunger 1' ending in a 1 '' needle which can be applied to the orifice of the pipe h which comes from the reservoir. On the delivery pipe to the burner j, from the pump i, a bypass pipe in is grafted which will open into the cylinder on at its. lower part under the drawer 1.
It has between the plug for closing the opening a of the feeder which is directly above the cylinder 1c, and starting from the slide 1, a calibrated res out n.
The operation of this installation is as follows - Assuming that the first step is to supply the burner j with it. a liquid fuel contained in a loaded tank: Nothing else is: to be done than to start, preferably simultaneously, the pumps f and i. </ I >
-If for some reason, the highest level in the nurse a being reached, the float d is raised, the double valve e is pressed on the seat cal 'of the chamber case, and there is an interruption of the communication tion between the tank and the nurse a .; the feed pump f operates in a short circuit because it draws from the nurse a itself;
-As soon as the level drops, the float d goes down and the. -Communication is reestablished with the tank.
Now assume that pump i. has a higher flow rate, which is the case in practice, than that required by the burner j, the pressure rises in the discharge pipe of this pump, and therefore in the bypass pipe m which goes to the cylinder Ic; this pressure is exerted under the drawer 1, to.
against the spring n, raises this slide 1 until the orifice k 'of the cylinder le is discovered to allow passage to the contents of the bypass pipe wi and thus allow the discharge in the nanny c. from the excess discharge line of the pump i ..
@ Now suppose that we stop the pumps f and i. La, pump i. no longer delivering, the pressure in the. branch pipe m becomes insufficient to resist the thrust @of the spring r. and therefore insufficient to push back the spool 1. The latter is therefore at the lower end of travel and its plunger-needle l ′, P closes the inlet of the pipe la of the reservoir opening into the chamber g. Any travel, any overflow is therefore avoided.
All of the above relates to an installation used with a tank in charge, the operation of the installation with a tank below is the same as that which has just been described, at. except that when stopping the pumps f and i. the needle plunger h @ and l2, when it is at its.
active position, instead of preventing the arrival of the liquid fuel to the manifold a, prevents the one contained in the latter from returning to the tank and consequently leaves the installation in working order immediately upon restart of the pumps since they are not dismantled.
The operation of '. installation when used with a tank located at the same level is understandable without it being necessary to insist.
Advantageously, this installation is completed by interposing respectively between the reservoir and the. canister and between the canister and the appliance, two filters o and p by providing an evacuation duct q outside the fumes of the liquid fuel contained in the canister, and in having a small line r clean to bring back to, the manifold has the liquid that passes through the gland (s) of pump i.
Among other advantages, the device described has the following: Absolute safety at standstill; Simplification of the installations, the type of which is the same regardless of the position, of the tank; The power of the pumps is constant, no jolts due to the differences in loads; The drive motors operate without shocks, therefore without noise; Priming the pumps is easy.
The liquid is subjected, by alternations of switching on or short-circuiting the pumps and by its intense circulation in the bypass pipe, to an energetic stirring which brings it to a temperature such that it is close to highest temperature advantageous for good operation of the user apparatus, especially in the case of a liquid fuel to be used in a burner.
