Injector for the pressurized spraying of liquid fuels The present invention relates to an injector r for the pressurized spraying of liquid fuel, in particular of fuel requiring heating, comprising an injector body having a chamber supplied with fuel by a pipe d 'supply, a return pipe connecting the chamber to the fuel tank, a channel communicating the chamber with a spray nozzle, this channel being controlled by an automatic valve which opens only when the pressure in the chamber exceeds a given value determined by the tension of a spring tending to keep the valve in the closed position.
There are already known injectors of the type indicated above in which the automatic valve comprises a needle controlled by a piston subjected to the action of a return spring. Such autom. Atics have certain drawbacks owing to the leaks that can, for example, occur between the piston carrying the needle and the cylinder in which it slides. In addition, since heating oils often have impurities, there is always a risk of the piston sticking. The injector according to the invention aims to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks.
It is characterized by the fact that its automatic valve comprises a membrane constituting a part of the wall of this chamber to which it is fixed, and in the central part of which the said spring acts.
The appended drawing shows schematically and by way of example an embodiment of the injector according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial section of the injector in the rest position, while
fig. 2 shows the injector in the fuel spray position.
With reference to the drawing, the injector shown comprises a body 1 having a chamber 2 supplied with fuel by a supply line 3. A return line 4 connects the chamber 2 to the fuel tank which may be the tank of a device. reheating, in the aas where the quality of the fuel oil requires such reheating. This return line 4 is controlled by a valve 5, the opening of which is caused manually or electromagnetically by means of a solenoid 6. A channel 7 puts the chamber 2 in communication with a spray nozzle. This spray nozzle is not shown in the drawing, but should be fixed in the threaded bore 8 of the injector body 1.
An automatic valve controls the inlet 9 of channel 7. This automatic valve, generally designated by the number 10, opens only when the pressure in chamber 2 exceeds a given value determined by the voltage of a spring 11 tending to keep the valve in the closed position. In the example shown, the valve 10 comprises a membrane 12 fixed by its periphery 13 in the body 1. This membrane 12 therefore forms part of the wall i of the chamber 2. A housing 14 is provided in the body 1. behind this membrane 12. In this housing is arranged the spring 1 1 which bears, on the one hand, against the bottom 15 of the housing 14 and, on the other hand, against a disc 16 disposed under the central part of the membrane 12 .
A bore 17 places the housing 14 in communication with the atmosphere. It should be noted that the housing 14 does not necessarily have to be in communication with the atmosphere and that the bore 17 could be omitted.
Preferably, the membrane 12 is formed using an elastomer or synthetic rubber resistant to the heating hulule and withstanding temperatures of the order of 2000 C. With such a membrane, it is the membrane itself. even which can constitute by its central part the shutter member of the valve 10. However, it is perfectly possible to bring such a shutter member against the central part of the membrane 12. It is possible, for example, to use a plate as a shutter member. made of metal of high hardness or a plate of artificial stone, for example of artificial ruby which can be embedded in the membrane and which will be intended to come into contact with the seat formed around the orifice 9 of the channel 7.
In another embodiment, the membrane 12 could be metallic and consist of a simple sheet of thin metal possibly having circular adulations.
As a further variant, the shutter member of the valve 10 could be independent of the membrane 12 and subjected to the action of a spring tending to move it away from the seat formed at the inlet 9 of the channel 7 for supplying the valve. nozzle.
Of course, this shutter return spring in the open position should have a lower force than that of the spring 11. The membrane 12 would then act on this independent shutter to bring it to the closed position, when the pressure in the chamber 2 is less than that determined by the spring 11, after subtraction of the force of the return spring of the shutter member.
The operation of the injector described above with reference to the drawing is as follows:
During the rest period of the burner of which this injector forms part, the valve 5 is in the open position, as shown in FIG. 1. As soon as the burner has to be started, a circulation of conibustible oil, preheated or not, takes place through the pipes 3 and 4 through the chamber 2, the spring 11 keeping the valve 10 in the closed position. . After a certain period of time, the valve 5 is closed, as shown in fig 2.
The pressure rise then occurring in the chamber 2 deforms the membrane 12 by pushing its central part against the action of the spring 11. The orifice 9 is thus released and the fuel roar arrives through the channel 7 to the nozzle. , at the exit of which it is ignited by conventional means, the electric arc or pilot ignition flame. As soon as the valve 5 is returned to the open position by the solenoid 6, the pressure drops again in the chamber e 2 and the diaphragm 12 returns to its initial position under the effect of the res out 11, which closes the valve. channel 7, the burner r then being at rest.
