Switching device for electrically operated floor polishers for switching the motor current on and off. The subject matter of the present invention is a switching device in electrically operated floor polishers for switching the motor current on and off. An organ connected to the handle of the floor polisher is provided, which is designed and interacts with a switch attached to the machine in such a way that the motor current is switched on and off by moving the handle relative to the surface to be treated.
The invention is to be described in more detail in connection with the exemplary embodiments presented in the accompanying drawings.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment in side view, and Fig. 2 the same seen from above; 3 and 4 show the switch of the drill apparatus on a larger scale; Fig. 5 shows an embodiment with a slightly modified form of a switching device, Fig. 6 the same in plan view and Fig. 7 the modified switching device on a larger scale.
In the figures, 1 denotes the housing of the floor polisher which is arranged on a base plate 2 and encloses the electric drive motor. A fork 3 or the like is connected in an articulated manner to the housing 1 by means of the bolt 4. The appropriately divisible handle 5 is connected to the fork 3.
According to the fig. 1 to 4 a scarf ter 7 is attached to the cover 6 of the motor housing 1. A driver 8 is attached to the fork 3. The driver 8 be seated a trap 9 which is rotatably mounted around a pin 10 arranged at the end of the driver bar. The trap 9 is kept in the position shown in FIGS. 3 and 4 by a small spring 11 placed around the pin 10. The trap 9 itself is bent from a sheet metal strip or. pressed.
At its free end it has a special design in such a way that it forms an inclined approach curve 12 towards the outside, while the sheet metal strip has a driver surface 13 that is essentially perpendicular to the movement of the latch 9 on the inside. This driver works with a switch lever 14 attached to the holder 7.
The switching device works as follows: During operation, the switching lever 14 has the position shown in FIG. This corresponds to the inclination of the handle 5. If the floor polisher is now brought to rest and the floor polisher 5 is erected, the resilient driver 8 with the latch 9 approaches the head of the switching lever 14 and turns it over. With further upward movement of the handle, the trap 9 is pushed ver as a result of the formation of the start-up curve 12 against the action of the spring 11 to the right, overflows the head of the switch lever 14 and then snaps back behind this head, so that the position shown in Fig. 3 comes about.
In this position, which at the same time corresponds to the vertical position of the floor polish, the current is switched off. The handle 5 is held in this position by a resilient pawl 15 attached to the fork 3. The pawl is formed at the front end with a detent 16 which engages in a recess 17 arranged in the cover 6 of the motor housing 1. The rear end 18 of the pawl 15 is shaped like a pedal so that the pawl can be actuated with the foot.
If the floor polisher is put back into operation, i.e. the handle is swiveled out of the vertical position again, for example in an inclined position, as shown in Fig. 1, then the catch with its driver surface 13 takes the switch lever 14, which engages on its head, until the shift lever 14 is tilted into the other end position shown in FIG. 4. With further movement the latch 9 gives way against the pressure of the spring 11 and the resilient driver device is now completely free of the switch which is switched on.
In the arrangement according to FIGS. 5 to 7, the handle 5 is articulated to the motor housing 1 by a fork 3, as before. The fork 3 rotates around the bolts 4 and is provided at the lower end with an extension 20 which forms a double-armed lever with the fork. A lever arm 21 is rotatably mounted on the motor housing 1 by means of a bolt 22 under the load of a spring 23. The lever arm 21 is provided with a start-up curve 24 on which the extension 20 slides ent long during the vertical movement of the handle 5. A slot 25 seen in the fog arm 21 engages over the switch lever 26 of the switch 19.
If the handle 5 and thus the fork 3 is, for example, in the position shown in FIG. 5, which corresponds to the full lines in FIG. 7, the projection 20 rests against the starting curve 24 and the current to the drive motor is switched on by the switch 19. Should the handle 5 fall from the operator's hand, the handle 5 and thus also the fork 3 will assume the horizontal dashed position shown in FIG.
When moving the handle 5 and the fork 3 when transitioning from dje .., r inclined position to the real executes, the approach 20 is guided upwards (upper dashed position and the lever arm 21 slides under the Pull the spring 23 to the right (in Fig. 7), the slot 25 also pulls the switch lever 26 to the right, whereby the motor current is switched off.
As soon as the handle of the appa raten assumes a horizontal position, the drive motor is switched off. The same applies if the handle is brought into the vertical or rest position after using the s s device. From FIG. 7 it can be seen that the extension 20 in this last-mentioned position of the handle 5 and thus the fork 3 releases the approach curve 24 and the lever arm 21 assumes the dashed position (FIG. 7) in the same way as with the horizontal position of the handle in which position the switch 19 is switched off.
