Electric iron. Automatic lifting devices
for irons to avoid scorching fabrics are known per se. The
The subject of the present invention is the particular configuration of such a device
Lifting device. This device consists of two on either side of the iron
attached, resiliently pressed feet, each with an angle lever
a bolt are connected, which in a
special housing
between the iron and its handle is inserted and under the influence of an electric
Coil stands. As soon as you grasp the handle and at the same time one provided in the handle
Contact closes, this coil is energized and pulls in the bolt, which means
the angle lever against the action of rear springs the feet are pulled up.
The feet are automatically pressed down as soon as you take your hand off the handle
takes and thereby the irri grip sedentary contact is opened.
In the drawing is an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention
shown, namely the same shows an iron with the new device, partially
on average.
In diesem Augenblick
The bracket 2 is currently attached to your iron i. This bracket has on both sides at the ends a flange 3 with freely inserted bolts q., On which the feet 5 are attached. To the bolts d. springs are placed, which press the bolts and thus also the feet 5 down. Furthermore, 5 tabs 6 are attached to the feet, which are connected to the angle levers 8 which are attached on both sides of the iron and which are rotatable about the pin 7. These angle levers are in turn connected to the bolt 9, which sits in a housing provided on the iron. The right end of this bolt is in an electromagnetic coil ii, while the left end of the bolt is pulled by a spring i2 which tends to push the bolt to the left. In addition, the pin has a notch 1 3, in which a spring 14 attached to a lug 15 is incident, as soon as the bolt 9 has been moved far enough to the right. An electromagnet 16 is arranged above the spring 14. This and the coil ii are connected to a circuit which, when the handle ij is touched, is closed by a contact lever 18 that is pushed up, and the current flows through the coil ii when the handle is touched or when the lever 1 8 is pushed up, so that the bolt 9 is pulled to the right. As a result, the feet 5 are pulled up so that the iron i sits down on the surface to be ironed. As soon as the bolt 9 is pulled far enough into the coil ir, the nose 15 of the spring 1: I snaps into the notch 13 of the bolt 8. At this moment the current is interrupted by the lever 18, which is then completely pushed up, so that no current is consumed when the feet are held up. But as soon as you let go of the handle, the contact lever 18 is pressed down again by the spring 19. As a result, the circuit to the electromagnet io is closed for a moment, so that it is excited and pulls the spring 14, whereby the nose 15 is pulled out of the notch 13 of the bolt 9 and the iron i is immediately pushed up. The power line as well as the course of the current are readily apparent from the drawing. It should only be mentioned that the current is passed from the plug contact 2o firstly to the coil and the electromagnet and also to the heating resistor provided in the iron. The line to the latter can also be connected to a contact in such a way that this circuit is only closed when the iron is standing on the surface to be ironed.
