Deux formes d'exécution de l'objet de la présente invention sont représentées, schéma: tiquement et à titre -d'exemple, au -dessin an nexé, dans lequel: Fig. 1 est une vue latérale de la première forme, dont Fi-. 2 est une coupe axiale de la jambe suivant la ligne _A-B de fig. 3, et Fig. 3 une coupe transversale de la jambe suivant la ligne A.-B -de la fig. 1;
Single-leg, height-adjustable seat. The object of the. The present invention is a single-leg seat, of adjustable height, in which the leg comprises: two tubular members which can be moved relative to one another by telescoping, and a stop device making it possible to immobilize these two organs one on top of the other, this com device carrying a stop finger fixed to one. of the tubular or ganes,
as well as a window made in the wall of the other member and of which at least one of the edges has stops with which the finger can engage and immobilize the two members one on the other under the action of the weight placed on the seat, the whole arranged in such a way that one can, at will, bring the support plate by one of the organs to various heights and keep it fixed there.
Two embodiments of the object of the present invention are shown, diagram: tically and by way of -d'example, in the annexed -dessin, in which: FIG. 1 is a side view of the first form, of which Fi-. 2 is an axial section of the leg along the line _A-B of FIG. 3, and Fig. 3 a transverse section of the leg along the line A.-B -of FIG. 1;
Fi-. 4 is an axial section of the. leg of the second form, and Fig. 5 and 6 each show in view a variant of the foot detail. -of the leg. In the first embodiment (fig.
1, 2 and 3), the two tubular members are formed by the cylindrical tubes 1, respectively 4, engaged one in the other and able to slide one opposite the other by telescoping. The inner tube 1 carries, at its upper part, a plate 2 on which the seat plate 3 is screwed, and, at its middle part, an ankle 8 which is screwed to it -and crosses it by projecting outwardly where it forms the stop finger.
The outer tube 4 is pierced with a window 6 made in the upper part of its wall and over about a third of its length; one of the edges of this window has four detent notches 7 arranged in steps around the leg. The peg 8 protrudes out of the window with the notches -d'ar rêt 7 from which it can engage under the action of the weight of the tube 1, of the placet 3 and of the load placed thereon.
At its lower end, the tube 4 is closed off by a plug 5 constituting the foot of the leg and terminated, outside the tube, by a point 11 intended to rest on the ground, and carrying, inside the tube, a hook 10.
A coil spring 9, housed inside the leg and attached, on the one hand, to the ankle 8, and, on the other hand, to the hook 10, tends to bring one into the other the two tubes, which has the effect of keeping the stop-finger engaged in one or the other of the stop notches. The action of this spring 9 is added to that of the weight mentioned above, and its length is such that it is always armed.
It is easy to understand that, by printed rotation, on the tube 4 and by traction exerted on the latter against the spring 9, or by allowing said tube to move under the action of said spring, the finger 8 can be brought in engagement with a determined stopper 7 and give the seat the chosen height.
The second embodiment, which has the same elements as the previous one, differs from the latter in. that the plate 2, on which is screwed .le placet 3, is carried by a rod 19 engaged in the inner tube 1, and in that this tube supports the placet by means of a spring with bead din 18 surrounding the rod 19 and on which rest the plate 2 and the tube 1.
This rod 19 has a tubular lower end 12 pierced with two side windows 13 through which passes the city plug 8 which prevents the rod from coming out of the tube 1. The clearance between the plug and the edges of the windows allows the rod to come and go along the tube under the action of the weight placed on the seat and which, being able to vary, more or less compresses the spring 18, the spring 9 being housed in the tubular part 12 when necessary.
The use of this second embodiment is easily understood and, compared to the first form, it has the advantage of offering the person who sits on the seat an elastic and more comfortable sitting position.
These two embodiments have been specially designed to serve as milking chairs, the point 11 penetrating a little into the ground preventing them from slipping. A royal court, not shown in the drawing, can be provided, as is known and in a manner suitable to retain the chair to the person using it when he stands up.
In the variant .de detail shown in FIG. 5, the plug 5 is terminated, outside the tube 4, by a cylindrical rod 14 of the tines to be inserted into a sleeve 15 fixed in the floor 16 of an automobile for example, the seat thus maintained constituting a removable jump seat. The socket 15 could also be adapted to the lookout of an artillery piece for example, and placed so that the seat could serve as a pointer, or be fixed to the floor of a performance hall, etc.
In the second variant of detail my entry in fi-. 6, the plug 5 is terminated, outside the tube 4, by a plate 17 em preventing the leg from entering the ground; this variant could be employed with advantage by gardeners, pavers, etc. and generally by people whose occupations require extended stations very inclined towards the ground.
The embodiments given as an example have, with respect to known single-leg seats, the advantage of being able to be modified in height, as well as great lightness, great strength, etc.
A seat according to the invention may differ from the embodiments and variants described and represented, for example: by the number, the shape, the arrangement of the various elements which compose them, such as the window with detents, the number of these, the shape of the cap, etc.
