Description
Process for the preparation of a solid diazo salt. It has been found that reacting diazo salt solutions with free p-chlorobenzenesulfonic acid or one of its salts gives white or colored solid diazo salts which are distinguished by good separability with sufficient solubility and good stability.
For example, solutions of the salts of diazotized nitroanilines, chloronitranilines, dichloroanilines, chloro- and nitrotoluidines, nitroaminophenol alkyl ethers and ortho-aminophenol acryl ethers are suitable for the process.
The new solid diazo salts obtained in this way are valuable products for the purposes of dyeing and printing. Under certain circumstances it is useful to add suitable diluents and dyeing auxiliaries to them.
The present patent relates to a method for the preparation of a solid diazo salt by reacting a diazo salt solution of 6-chloro-2-amino-1-toluene with a p-chlorobenzenesulfonic acid salt or with free p-chlorobenzenesulfonic acid.
The solid diazo salt obtained in this way is a pale yellowish powder which is soluble in water.
Example: A diazo solution, prepared from 142 parts of 6-chloro-2-amino-1-toluene, 750 parts of 15% hydrochloric acid and 70 parts of sodium nitrite, is triturated with 258 parts of sodium p-chlorobenzenesulfonate.
When the reaction has ended, the precipitated diazo salt is filtered off and dried.
