Device for the protection of wood grinders with constant wood supply. In the case of wood grinders with constant supply of wood against the stone, the organs that ensure the feed of the wood are driven by an electric motor with adjustable speed. The speed of the motor is then regulated by an automatic device so that the grinder has a constant power consumption.
If the drive motor of the grinder is an electric motor, the grinder motor is regulated to constant current or power consumption by regulating the feed motor; if, on the other hand, the grinder is driven by a water or steam turbine, this is controlled by regulating the feed motor to a constant level Speed and thus indirectly regulated to a constant grinder load.
With constantly working grinders, however, jamming of the wood in the feed shaft is often to be expected. If such jamming occurs, the feed of wood is completely or partially inhibited. The roller load sinks below the set value, the feed motor then tries to press the wood even more strongly against the stone and has to exert a great deal of force because of the jamming that occurs. However, there is a risk of damaging the lifting mechanism.
The present invention is a device through which such overloads of the feed organs are actively avoided. For this purpose, an electrical control device is provided, which is a function of the torque of the feed motor, while the latter is influenced by this control device in such a way that the torque cannot exceed a certain maximum value.
The torque of the feed motor can be measured mechanically or electrically. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, where the .Stromaufnahme the feed motor is used as a measure of its torque, the wood grinder a is driven by the three-phase motor b, its wood feed by DC motor c. This is fed by the motor generator d, e in a Leonard circuit and constantly excited by the direct current network f.
The excitation of the Leonard dynamo d is influenced on the one hand in a known manner by means of a fast regulator g of the power consumed by the grinder motor b, on the other hand by means of the fast regulator lt by the current consumption of the feed motor c from the shunt i in such a way that on the one hand the power of the Schleifer follows certain laws, on the other hand overloads. of the feed motor can be avoided.
The two control resistances of the controllers g and h are in series; but they could also be connected in parallel. In addition, the moving systems of the two controllers could be combined, that is, the various Erregspu sources act on the moving system of a single controller.
If a jamming occurs in the wood feed, the feed motor c has to exert a large torque, therefore, since its field is constantly excited, it absorbs a correspondingly large current, which has the consequence that the current regulator h responds, and the excitation of the Leonard - dynamo d weakens until the current of the feed motor c is reduced to an acceptable level.
The field resistance of the Leonard dynamo now does not need a fast regulator influenced by the feed motor current, but can be adjusted directly by a dynamometer-like device which leaves its zero position when the permitted torque is exceeded and adjusts the regulator.
According to FIG. 2, a differential gear k with spring or weight load na is switched between the forward feed motor c and the feed gear of the grinder a . Its rotatable housing is connected to the contact arm of the controller h. Its resistance is normally short-circuited, namely when the torque of the motor c is less than the moment exerted by the weight m.
If it becomes larger, the differential coupling takes the regulator with it and weakens the field of the Leonard dynamo, so that overstressing of the feed mechanism is avoided.
Instead of the differential clutch k, a simple spring clutch could also be used in which one half sits on the front thrust shaft, the other on the motor shaft; Both coupling halves are connected by means of springs, which are dimensioned according to the torque to be transmitted, in such a way that the coupling halves only move against each other when a certain limit torque is exceeded and adjust the control resistance during this displacement.
According to FIG. 3, the feed motor is designed with a rotatable stand. The limit torque is set by means of the counterweight m, which is attached here directly to the arm n of the controller 1a; it can be adjusted to the desired limit torque by moving it on the arm.
Other types of dynamometric type, which either directly or indirectly measure the transmitted torque or are proportional to it. 1, can be used to limit the torque of the feed motor.
