Chapeau indéformable. Pour donner aux chapeaux une certaine ri gidité, on est obligé d'employer un feutre épais ou autre matière souvent apprêtée, ce qui présente l'inconvénient d'alourdir le cha peau, lequel finit à la longue par se déformer sous l'influence de l'humidité et des intempéries. Les chapeaux en feutre léger, par contre, présentent l'inconvénient qu'au bout de peu de temps, les bords se déforment, soit sous l'action répétée des coups de chapeau, soit aussi par l'humidité ou les intempéries. En outre, pour les mêmes raisons, il est dif ficile de confectionner des chapeaux en feutre ayant la forme d'un canotier, cette exécu tion ne se trouvant dans le commerce qu'en paille ou en feutre très lourd.
De même pour les chapeaux de dames généralement confec tionnés sur une carcasse en sparterie qui se déforme rapidement sous l'action de l'humi dité ou de la chaleur.
Pour obvier à ces inconvénients, la pré sente invention a pour objet un chapeau in déformable.
Le dessin annexé; donné à titre d'exemple, représente deux formes d'exécution de l'in vention. Dans la première, la fig. 1 est une élévation de côté d'un chapeau genre cano tier, la moitié de gauche recouverte de feutre et celle de droite nue, sans recouvrement; la fig. 2 est une vue de dessous de fig. 1 et la fig. 3 est une élévation de face du même cha peau, la moitié de gauche en vue, celle de droite en coupe.
Dans la seconde forme d'exécution, la fig. 4 est une élévation d'un chapeau en feu tre mou, la moitié de gauche en vue et celle de droite en coupe; la fig. 5 est une éléva tion de face du même chapeau, la moitié de gauche en vue et celle de droite en coupe; en fin la fig. 6 est une vue de dessous de fig. 5.
Dans les fig. 1 à 3, on montre un chapeau canotier en feutre, comportant une forme 1, en une matière flexible, indéformable, par exemple en celluloïd, en une seule pièce mince et légère, constituée par un fond a, une par tie cylindrique b et un bord c. Pour alléger davantage cette forme, les parties <I>a</I> et<I>b</I> sont découpées dans leurs parois pleines, formant des vides, respectivement 3 et 4.
Cette forme ainsi confectionnée est recou verte d'un feutre 5 et garnie d'un rebord ou ourlet 6 et d'un ruban 7. Pour fixer ces gar- nitures ainsi que la doublure intérieure, la pièce b est perforée d'une ou plusieurs ran gées de trous 8, facilitant le passage de l'ai guille.
On obtient ainsi un chapeau canotier en feutre très léger et indéformable.
Il va sans dire que les parties a, b et c de la forme 1 peuvent être confectionnées sé parément et collées ou assemblées en une seule pièce.
Dans la deuxième forme d'exécution, fig. 4 à 6, un chapeau en feutre 9, mou et léger, est confectionné avec un rebord 10 indéfor mable. Attenant au bord 10 en matière flexi ble et indéformable, par exemple en celluloïd, est prévu un cercle 11, également en cellu loïd, servant à attacher le bord au fond en feutre. Le bord est recouvert d'une couche de feutre 12 et pourvu d'un rebord ou ourlet 13. Le joint entre 9 et 12 est recouvert d'un ruban 14 constituant la garniture.
Le cercle 11 et le bord 10 sont perforés de petits trous 8 pour faciliter la couture. Le chapeau ainsi confectionné est en feu tre mou, très léger, muni d'un bord indéfor mable.
La forme en matière flexible et indéfor mable peut s'adapter à n'importe quelle façon de chapeau pour dames ou messieurs, suivant les nécessités de la mode. Au point de vue économique, l'intérieur de la carcasse peut avantageusement rempla cer toutes les garnitures ou habillages du fond, étant donné que la matière de la forme peut se teindre en différentes nuances suivant le goût et la mode et peut même porter une impression rappelant le nom et adresse qu'on y adapte généralement sous forme d'étiquette ou réclame. De même, pour le recouvrement extérieur, on peut employer des matières plus minces et plus légères n'ayant plus besoin, de subir un apprêt ou autre préparation préa lable.

Likewise for ladies' hats generally made on a casing of esparto which deforms rapidly under the action of humidity or heat.
To overcome these drawbacks, the present invention relates to a non-deformable cap.
The attached drawing; given by way of example, represents two embodiments of the invention. In the first, fig. 1 is a side elevation of a canoe-type hat, the left half covered with felt and the right half bare, without covering; fig. 2 is a bottom view of FIG. 1 and fig. 3 is a front elevation of the same cha skin, the left half in view, the right in section.
In the second embodiment, FIG. 4 is an elevation of a soft felt hat, the left half in view and the right in section; fig. 5 is a front elevation of the same hat, the left half in view and the right in section; at the end, fig. 6 is a bottom view of FIG. 5.
In fig. 1 to 3, we show a felt boater hat, having a shape 1, in a flexible, non-deformable material, for example celluloid, in a single thin and light piece, consisting of a bottom a, a cylindrical part b and a edge c. To further lighten this shape, the parts <I> a </I> and <I> b </I> are cut in their solid walls, forming voids, respectively 3 and 4.
This shape thus produced is covered with a felt 5 and lined with a rim or hem 6 and a tape 7. To fix these trimmings as well as the inner lining, part b is perforated with one or more rows of holes 8, facilitating the passage of the needle.
The result is a very light and undeformable felt boater hat.
It goes without saying that parts a, b and c of form 1 can be made separately and glued or assembled in one piece.
In the second embodiment, fig. 4 to 6, a felt hat 9, soft and light, is made with an indefinable rim 10. Adjoining the edge 10 of flexible and undeformable material, for example of celluloid, is provided a circle 11, also of cellu loïd, serving to attach the edge to the felt bottom. The edge is covered with a layer of felt 12 and provided with a rim or hem 13. The joint between 9 and 12 is covered with a tape 14 constituting the trim.
The circle 11 and the edge 10 are punched with small holes 8 to facilitate sewing. The hat thus made is made of very light soft felt, provided with an indefinable brim.
The shape in flexible and indefinable material can be adapted to any type of hat for ladies or gentlemen, depending on fashion needs. From an economic point of view, the interior of the carcass can advantageously replace all the trimmings or coverings of the bottom, since the material of the form can be dyed in different shades according to taste and fashion and can even bear an impression. recalling the name and address which is generally adapted to it in the form of a label or advertisement. Likewise, for the exterior covering, thinner and lighter materials can be used which no longer need to undergo a primer or other preliminary preparation.
