Zentrifuge.
Centrifuge. The present invention relates to a centrifuge for separating liquids, for example suspensions.
The drawing shows a Ausführungsbei game of the subject invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section; FIG. 2 is half of the section designated by the dash-dotted line c-d in FIG. 1, projected onto an imaginary plane perpendicular to the axis a-b; FIG. 3 is half of the section designated by the dash-dotted line e-f in FIG. 1, projected onto an imaginary plane perpendicular to the axis a-b.
Fig. 4 is a half-section, indicated by the dash-dotted line y-h in Fig. 1, perpendicular to the axis a, -b.
The machine has an axis a-b which is in the bearings i. and k can be rotated. It is surrounded by the drum l in a tubular shape. This drum l is open at both ends. It is connected by two ring channels 7n and n, with two beads x and zv. The ring channels in and rt, which are separated by a partition o, open coaxially into the drum 1 and radially and one above the other into the beads x and eo.
The ring channel -rt is closed off by the cover p. In the ring channels na and n are inserted radially and perpendicularly to the sheath 21 o curved blades q (FIGS. 2 and 3). These ring channels act like centrifugal pumps and are simply called pumps in the following.
The ring channels na and n, the blades q and the partition o, which form one piece with the lid p and are attached to the axle ab by means of the lid p, form the rotating ones with the axle and the drum l Part of the machine.
This rotating part can also be two-part lig. By interrupting the axis ab, for example at the point r, by separating the drum l by the joint s and fastening the drum l, for example at the point t on the axis ab, the drum l can with a certain speed for itself and the pumps are also rotated by themselves at a different speed.
The whole rotating part, whether made of one or two pieces, is enclosed by the housing -tc. The inlet v is attached to this housing u. The housing rests as closely as possible over the closed surface parts of the rotating part. Around the pump mouth it expands into the beads w and x . These beads end with the extensions y and z.
The mode of operation of the machine is as follows: Through the inlet 'v, the liquid mixture consisting of two masses of different specific weights enters the. Drum 1, where the masses are separated in such a way that the centrifugal force separates the specifically heavier ones against the drum wall and the specifically lighter ones toward the axis, and always the drum against the pumps flowing through.
At the end of the drum, the specifically heavier mass is sucked off by the outer lower pump and driven through the bead ec to the outlet y, the specifically lighter cup is sucked off by the inner upper pump and through the bead x to the outlet r driven. From the outlets, the masses can each be conveyed through pipes to appropriately distant points of use.
