Installation on 3Le13 pumps to make the correct filling recognizable. The so-called measuring pumps, which are used to sell oils and the like in measured quantities, have a cylinder, the dimensions of which correspond to the amount of liquid to be measured, and in which a piston with a limited movement of a drive crank makes such a stroke that the measured amount Amount of liquid is sucked into the cylinder.
During the downward stroke of the piston, the amount of liquid sucked in passes through a flap or ball valve in the piston to the other side of the piston and on the next suction stroke it is pushed out and collected at the tapping point.
These measuring pumps carry the risk that if the crank does not perform the entire oscillating movement, the full amount that the pump should deliver will not be poured out. That is why such pumps are not easily calibratable.
'Measuring pumps which are provided with the device of the present invention, on the other hand, are calibratable, because the device forms a control means for the buyer, by means of which he can convince himself that the pump is being handled correctly.
The drawing illustrates two embodiment, examples of the invention, namely the same shows the front view of the cylinder one with the. Facility provided measuring pump.
In the embodiment according to Eig. 1 be. the measuring cylinder stands in the known manner from a jacket 1 with the two covers. 2 and 3. The piston 6 of the pump carries the piston rod 10 which projects downward through the cover 3 and into the hollow stand 5 and forms a toothed rack This engages a toothed piston seated on the axis of the crank I. The oscillating movement of the crank 7: is appropriately limited so that during the upward piston stroke it causes, a certain quantity of liquid is sucked into the cylinder.
During the downward stroke of the piston, the cylinder is filled by an in piston 6. brought flap or ball valve and beirr. The next upward stroke of the piston is pressed through the bore in the cover that opens into the cylinder into the pressure line 8 and to the tap.
A pin 11 is now also attached to the piston 6, which is passed through the cover 2 in a sealed manner and protrudes somewhat beyond the cover 2 in the lowest position of the piston. On the protruding end of this pin 11, a stop P is adjustable bar attached.
On the cover 2 there are two guide rails 12, along which a traverse 13 is adjustable; this has an eye 1d, the axis of which is located on the cylinder axis and in which a stop p is axially adjustable.
A second stop p forms a courage ter with a fluted edge bead, which is screwed onto a ring socket surrounding the front end of the pin 11 on the cover 2 and is therefore adjustable in height.
The stops p are set so that in the highest and lowest positions of the piston 6 .the stop P rests on one of the same. The stop surfaces of the stops P and p thus form marks, two of which correspond to each other in the highest and lowest positions of the piston 6. This is a visible means of control for the buyer, which allows him to see whether the pump has been handled correctly when pouring liquid and he is therefore guaranteed to receive the amount of liquid to be measured by the pump.
To make checking even easier. For example, as indicated by dotted lines, a single or double pointer can be attached to the stop P, which corresponds to pointers Z on one or both of the guides 12 in the highest and lowest positions of the piston 6.
A device could also be connected to each of the stops p, which brings an optical or acoustic sign to effect when the stop P touches a stop p, for example a mechanically or electrically actuated bell, or a flap that is conspicuous is colored and which is set up at the strike, or any other such signaling device as are known in the art.
The fig. \? illustrates an example of a known type measuring pump finitely a cylinder jacket 1 made of glass, the covers 2 and 3 of which are pressed tightly against the jacket by clamping screws 4. The lower cover 3 is firmly connected to your pump stand 5, which is hollow. The piston rod protruding down into the stand 5 forms a toothed rod in which a gear on the axis of the crank 7 engages.
The oscillating movement of the crank is appropriately limited, so that when the crank is moved back and forth one after the other according to the limitation, a certain amount of liquid is sucked into the cylinder, onto the top of the piston 6 and through the outlet dispensing hose 8 is pressed, as described with reference to FIG.
The dispensing hose 8 is expediently seen at its free end with a valve 9 which is under spring pressure so that it opens when there is internal overpressure and closes again immediately when this pressure ceases. With this device, the measuring limit is placed at the end of the dispensing hose, which has the advantage that when pouring, one does not need to wait until the liquid contained in the hose has dripped off, which would take a long time with oils.
On the leather sleeve of the piston 6 two arrows P are now attached in a conspicuous color. These arrows are advantageously gebil det, for example, from pieces of sheet metal riveted to the outside of the leather sleeve. They are then finely polished when the pump is in use so that they shine conspicuously through the cylinder jacket.
Furthermore, two double arrows p connected by a straight line are attached to the outside of the cylinder jacket 1; expediently by tearing by means of the sandblasting fan and filling the cracks with light red paint.
The arrows p are now arranged in such a way that one in the lowest position, the other in the lower position of the piston corresponds to the arrows h. The arrangement of the arrows P and p enables the buyer to check whether the pump is being operated correctly, and this check ensures that he has received the amount of liquid to be measured receives.
The formation of the characters is arbitrary. expediently so that the characters are conspicuous and the stroke limits of the piston are clearly indicated by their arrangement to one another. The symbols could also be attached to the inside of the cylinder.
