Process for the preparation of sterile drug solutions. It has been found that water-soluble oxygen derivatives of glycol, similar to alcohol, have a pronounced ability to disinfect. Since these substances have a very good dissolving power for a wide variety of drugs and injected do not cause intoxication, they can be used with advantage for the preparation of sterile, subcutaneous and intravenous injections to use the drug solutions. These glycol derivatives also have a favorable distribution ratio between oils and aqueous media and therefore dissolve in the cell lipids and in the serum.
As a result of this property, these solvents are of great importance for drug therapy. For example, the solutions of camphor in fatty oils used for heart therapy, due to the low solubility of the solvent in tissue juices and serum, only release the drug slowly from the injection point to the circulation, while solutions of camphor produced according to the present method as a result of the The favorable distribution conditions mentioned in the organism can be rapidly absorbed.
The method according to the invention can also be used in other therapeutic areas, for example for the preparation of sterile solutions of sleeping aids.
Furthermore, when injecting certain basic chemotherapeutic agents, the poor solubility of these compounds has proven to be very troublesome; the bases are insoluble in water, and the salts are often extremely sparingly soluble. Under certain circumstances even the salts dissociate with water into base and acid, which of course rules out the use of the substances for injection purposes. According to the present process, however, it is possible to prepare sufficiently concentrated solutions of the bases.
Another advantage is e.g. B. in the possibility of producing solutions of several substances to be dissolved simultaneously. It can happen here that one
