Arrangement on electrical hot water storage tanks to prevent heat loss. An essential factor for the economic operation of electrical hot water storage tanks is as full a protection as possible against heat losses of all kinds. It is known to insulate the boiler for this purpose in such a way that the water tank is arranged in an outer boiler of larger volume and the inter mediate space is filled with a good heat insulating compound.
Experience has shown, however, that even the best insulation of this type is not sufficient to limit the heat losses to such a level that should not be viewed as having an adverse effect on economic operation. It has been shown that a relatively large amount of heat is diverted, in particular through the fastening means commonly used in the known designs, such as brackets, brackets, etc., as well as the type of arrangement of the hot water outlet, i.e. the intended purpose of heating the Boiler contents is alienated, whereby the efficiency of the apparatus is reduced.
The present invention aims to eliminate this disadvantage and it achieves this in that it avoids bringing the boiler inner boiler with the outer boiler jacket separated from it by an insulating mass by means of heat-dissipating metal parts and by a special guide the hot water drainage. This ensures that the heat losses are reduced to a minimum through heat dissipation.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown schematically.
The figure shows a vertical section through an electrical hot water storage tank constructed according to the invention.
The inner boiler a is not attached to the outer boiler shell c by brackets, brackets or similar means, but only placed in it, namely on a cylindrical frame e permanently mounted on the outer shell c and located on the boiler bottom d. The edge of the latter can be designed so that the inner boiler cc only rests on a few points or so that it rests on the entire circular line. The frame e can be isolated from the outer jacket by lining it with an insulating layer; it can also be made of insulation material itself.
The contact of the inner boiler with the frame edge takes place in the cold water zone by known termassen in such hot water storage tanks in the lowest boiler sections always the coldest water layers are available.
This arrangement means that the inner boiler must be centered not only below, but also above, so that it is always held in the middle of the casing. This is done by ring pieces f made of rigid insulation material, such as wood, cork plates, paper mache, etc. Below the inner chamber is centered by an angle ring g attached to the same, which fits exactly into the frame. The angular ring creates a good sealing surface at the same time and also carries the flange h, which the radiator i and the temperature switch 1c respectively. Includes regulator.
Another advantage of the latter arrangement is that the flange with the parts mentioned can easily be dismantled, which enables the boiler to be easily cleaned of scale.
In addition, the hot water outlet pipe 1 is passed through the middle of the inner boiler a so that the heat dissipation is reduced to a minimum due to the large distance from the outer jacket. In order to keep the surface of the water level up in the boiler as small as possible, the inner boiler has a bulge 2n into which the outlet pipe d opens, so that when the cold water inflow is switched off, dripping of the water is prevented.
Because the weight of the water in the outlet pipe tends to flow downwards, a vacuum forms at the mouth of the outlet pipe in the boiler, which causes the outlet pipe to have a siphon effect. For this reason, and because the air and other gases dissolved in the water collect in the upper part of the boiler due to the heating, the amount of water flowing in becomes much larger with a large level surface, which is disadvantageous and is prevented by the arrangement described.
Another advantage of routing the water outlet pipe through the internal boiler is that it is possible to attach water tapping points both below and above the boiler. If the hot water outlet above is not used, it is closed by a union nut n. To clean the outlet pipe from scale, the same can easily be removed.
The space between the inner boiler and the outer boiler jacket is filled in a known manner with a good insulation material.
