La fig. 1 est une vue d'ensemble de cette forme d'exécution; La fig. 2 est une vue de la pièce allongée et de son organe de man#uvre ; La fig. 3 est une coupe longitudinale axiale de la gaine et de la pièce allongée; La fig. 4 est une vue de l'organe de ma- n#uvre La fig. 5 est une vue en boutà grande échelle de la gaine et'de la pièce allongée;
La gaine i est disposée en entonnoir enf à son extrémité ouverte pour rendre l'introduc tion de la tige h plus aisée; elle présente extérieurement près de cette extrémité une gorge j oit est logé un anneau métallique élastique fenduk - quand la fente1 de l'anneauk est en regard de la fente e de la gainei (fig. 1), on peut introduire latéralement les cheveux dans cette fente e en les déplaçant axiale- ment;
Lorsque la tige a été ainsi enfilée à fond (fig. 3) dans la gaine i, on la fait tourner sur elle-mêmeà l'aide de l'organe m n jusqu'à ce que cette gaine i soit près de la peau (fig. 6) ; elle ne peut revenir en arrière par rotation du fait que ses dentsi viennent les unes après les autres en prise avec la goupilles;
en ce faisant, on amène successivement diverses parties des cheveux en contact direct avec ladite gaine i chauffée, si bien qu'on obtient un bon bouclage ou une bonne ondulation; on interpose finalement le dispositif que montre la fig. 7 et qui est fait en une matière isolante au point de vue chaleur, cri fibre par exemple, entre la peau et la gaine i qui demeure momentanément en place avec la tige h dont on retire l'organe in ït; l'anneau Ic est amenéà la position où il ferme la fente e aussitôt apr;
#s l'introduc tion de la mèche de cheveux avant l'enrou- lerrient complet, pour que celui-ci ait lieu de façon correcte; la mèche demeure ainsi em prisonnée. Une fois cela fait, on traite de la même façon une deuxième mècheà l'aide d'une se conde tige h et d'une seconde gaine i, mais du même organe m n, et ainsi de suite. Lors que tout ou partie de l'ondulation ou du bouclage général est terminé, on enlève les premières tige et gaine, puis. les secondes, etc. Les cheveux demeurent de la sorte un certain temps en contact direct ou indirect, suivant leurs parties, avec la gaine i. On peut utiliser par exemple dix groupes com prenant chacun une tige et une gaine.
Additional patent subordinate to main patent n) 117074. Device for curling or waving the hair. The object of the invention is a device for curling or waving the hair.
It comprises, like the device according to claim III of the main patent, an elongated piece provided with a clamp and allows both to grip and retain a lock of hair, as well as a sheath capable of being heated, intended to receive the piece as well as the lock of hair and having a longitudinal slit giving passage to the hair.
But it differs from it in that the elongated part has a length at most equal to to that of the sheath and in this that the device comprises an operating member which can be connected to the elongated part in a removable manner to allow it to be introduced into the sheath, to rotate it and to '</ B> remove, in order that we can place several positive sayings on the head very close to each other.
The appended drawing represents, to by way of example, one embodiment of the device.
Fig.  1  is an overview of this embodiment; Fig. 2 is a view of the elongated piece and of its actuator ;  FIG.  3  is an axial longitudinal section of the sheath and of the elongated part; Fig. 4 is a view of the actuator; FIG.  5  is a large scale   end view of the duct and of the elongated part;
Fig. 6 relating to the operation of the above embodiment is a section along the broken line VI-VI of fig. 3; Fig. 7 shows a device used with this embodiment.
The elongated part consists of a tubular cylindrical rod h of a certain length, made, for example, of aluminum. Near one of its ends is articulated a member c, also made of aluminum for example, having a section in the form of an arc of a circle and capable of being applied exactly to the rod h. The latter and the c organ form the forceps mentioned in the introduction.
The sheath i, made of aluminum for example, has the interior and exterior of a cylinder with circular bases closed6 à one of its ends, having a longitudinal slit starting from its end or green to stop at a short distance from the closed end. The two edges of the slit e have a rounded shape; one of them is slightly further from the axis than the other, so that the slot as a whole is disposed obliquely with respect to the plane containing the axis of the sheath i and the center line of said cast iron ; this facilitates the passage of the hair and prevents them from taking a wrinkle.
The sheath i is arranged in a funnel   f at   its open end to make the introduction of the rod h easier; it has a groove  j  on the outside near this end where a split elastic metal ring is housed  k -  when the slot  1  of the ring < B> k  is opposite the slot e of the  i  sheath (fig. 1),  the hair in this slit by moving them axially;
once in place in e they are y imprisoned by turning the ring k in the groove j so that the two slots e 1 </ B > are no longer opposite (fig. 3). The rod has a length substantially equal to to the internal length of the sheath i., so that it is necessary to have an organ for the maneuver. This in ii, nietallic organ,
has a cylindrical-conical handle in and a cylindrical tubular part it have the diameter is a little less than the inside diameter of the rod h and which has two 6- cuts o p </ I> diametrically opposed ; they each comprise an axial part o, as well as a transverse part _v and are tines to embracing an axis q of h, on which the component c is rotated.
By passing the parts o on the axis q, it is possible to impart a rotational movement to the rod h in the sheath i, although it does not protrude out of it ; ci) bringing the axis q in the parts p, we can introduce it in i and remove it . The sheath i is provided internally at its closed end with an axial projection r intended to be housed in the rod li, and solid d 'a radial pin s having to come into engagement with ratchet teeth t which this rod presents h to that of its ends which is opposite to </ B> the q. axis
The embodiment described is used, for example, as follows to implement the process according to claim 1 of the main patent: Thread from right to left the part n of the organ in îi in the rod h by sliding the axis q in the parts o of the slots o p </ B> (fig. 2).
We take this organ with the right hand, we lift the organ a and we pass the left end of this rod It under the lock of hair to grab that we smooth with using a comb so that it is flat, then the organ c is folded over the wick seized and held in this way; the rod h is rotated two or three times on itself to screen this bit over it. This rod h is then introduced longitudinally into the sheath i by passing the wick through the slot e (fig. 1), the ring k occupying on i a position such that it allows this introduction ; the sheath i, previously heated, is held of the left hand by means of special pliers.
When the rod has been inserted  to  in this way (fig.  3)  in the sheath i, it is rotated on itself  to  l 'using the  mn  organ until this sheath i is close to the skin (fig.  6);  it cannot turn back by rotation due to the fact that its teeth  i  come one after the other into engagement with the pins;
in doing so, various parts of the hair are successively brought into direct contact with said heated sheath i, so that good curling or good waviness is obtained ;  finally interposing the device shown in fig. .  7  and which is made of an insulating material from the point of view of heat, cry fiber for example, between the skin and the sheath i which remains momentarily in place with the rod h from which the organ is removed < I> in  ït; the ring Ic is brought  to  the position where it closes the slit immediately after;
#s the introduction of the lock of hair before the complete winding, so that this takes place correctly; the fuse thus remains imprisoned. Once this is done, we treat in the same way a second wick to using a second rod h and a second sheath i, but from the same organ mn, and so on. . When all or part of the corrugation or general looping is completed, the first rod and sheath are removed, then. seconds, etc. The hair thus remains in direct or indirect contact for a certain time, depending on its parts, with the sheath i. Ten groups can be used, for example, each comprising a rod and a sheath.
When the rod h and the sheath i are located one inside the other, they have a shorter length than the rod h. and the sheath i of the embodiment described in the main patent, when they are thus placed one inside the other; it is therefore possible to have groups comprising a rod h and a sheath i closer to each other than can be the case for the devices described in this main patent.
