Description

Machine for rounding the profile of the teeth of watch wheels. The object of the present invention is a rounding machine, of the kind which is used to round the profile of the teeth of watch wheels.

Generally, machines of this kind have a shaft mounted on conical bearings, at the front, and, behind, at the other end of the shaft; a conical point screw on which the shaft pivots and serving to take up the play that occurs by wear. This construction system has the drawback that the shaft is offset by the wear of the conical tip of the screw; furthermore, the shaft bearing is too hard for the job at hand.

The machine which is the subject of the invention has the particularity of having a shaft within reach, mounted on two ball bearings, as well as the shaft of the control wheel.

The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a view in elevation and partial section, FIG. 2 a plan view.

The machine shown comprises a frame a, fixed on a foot b, frame on which is placed a set of two slides, one horizontal c, one vertical c '; on the slide d of the latter is fixed the support é of the tool-holder shaft f; housings are provided in the heads of the shaft support to receive the ball bearings g g ', in which the shaft f is greasy; a nut h with locking screw adjusts the shaft play at seat f and a pulley is fitted on the shaft.

This pulley is controlled by means of a grooved handwheel connected by a transmission cord to the pulley and controlled by hand. This steering wheel and its support are not shown in the drawing; the shaft of this flywheel is mounted in the same way as the shaft f. A lever l fixed, on the one hand, to the frame a and, on the other hand, to the slide d makes it possible to maneuver the tool-holder shaft f to lower the milling cutter k on the watch wheel, the teeth of which are to be rounded. This wheel is held between worn on two pins and rests against an interchangeable t-cleat, screwed on a nose provided for this purpose.

The depth of the teeth to be rounded is adjusted by means of a micrometric screw v bearing a graduated stop n; the screw v is fixed to the slider in the same axis as the latter; this screw passes through a support s having a stop effect; an index allows easy and precise reading of the setting.
