Es bedeutet 1. claSehiebergehäuse, ? d,ri @lnschlullflancli für die Ila.uptdampfleitung, 3 das An schlussg;
Shut-off device with rotatable closing element for through pipes, in particular for the main steam pipe of railway vehicles. The invention relates to a shut-off device with a rotatable closing element for pressure lines, in particular for the main steam line of railway vehicles,
in which the blocking of the passage opening is carried out by a faceplate-like sealing body made of soft material, e.g. B. made of rubber, which in the final position of the closing orga.nes under the effect of the pressure of the medium, the gap between the; Bridged body of the rotating closing element and the housing.
The advantage of such a Absperrvor direction over the previously known gate valves is its easy mobility. The force with which the sealing body is pressed against the sealing surface of the housing is not greater than the pressure of the agent present in the line on the narrow sealing zone along which the sealing surfaces touch, while this force is the case with the previously known gate valves corresponds to the pressure on the entire area enclosed by the sealing zone.
This total pressure is taken at the object of the Exfinclung forming device from the body of the closing organ, on -dem the sealing body is fastened, and transferred to the storage of the rotatable closing organ. The friction caused by loading the shut-off device is low because the bearings have a much smaller diameter than the slide surface. The shut-off device is thus relieved.
If the sealing body is to be particularly spared, the elastic sealing body can be designed in such a way that it protrudes from the metallic sealing surface in the unloaded state, that is, a certain - albeit small - distance from it, while it is in the shut-off position the overpressure of the agent present in the line is inflated and pressed against the sealing surface.
For this purpose, the sealing body can be withdrawn from the sealing surface under the action of a spring force or its own elasticity, unless the pressure acting on it from the means present in the line overcomes this force.
In this case, when the shut-off device is rotated, the sealing body moves past the sealing surface at a certain distance without touching it, and is only pressed against it in the shut-off position. When the shut-off device is opened, the sealing body is released , the sealing surface off as soon as the previously unpressurized space of the shut-off element is under pressure. With this arrangement, the resistance to movement loading can be further reduced and the sealing body is largely spared.
In order to accelerate the expansion of the sealing body in the Ahsperrstellung, a small, controlled exhaust opening to the outside on the outlet side of the shut-off device is advantageously provided, which is inevitably opened in the shut-off position, so that the resources available in the room exhausts into the open air and the overpressure required to press the seal, --- no # against the sealing surface, is created at the moment of exhaustion.
In the case of shut-off devices for the ends of the main dam pipe on railway vehicles, it is advantageous to provide a drainage point for the condensation water between the sealing surface and the outlet opening that is used to connect the heating coupling, so that the name of the seal body about.
The escaping water droplets (seepage water) flow immediately into the open, while they would otherwise end up in the coupling hanging on the shut-off device, which would lead to the latter freezing over drop by drop.
The small, above-mentioned exhaust nozzle can serve as an opening for the condensed water, which is then attached to the previously indicated point and thus fulfills both of the stated objectives at the same time.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the invention, namely FIG. 1 shows a vertical section in the final position, and FIG. a horizontal section in the open position through a shut-off device for the main steam line of railway vehicles.
It means 1st class valve housing,? d, ri @lnschlullflancli for the Ila main steam line, 3 the connection;
e \ cinde for the coupling hanging on the shut-off device. 4 the faceplate-like sealing body, which consists of an elastic sealing ring made of rubber, which is attached to the body 6 of the closing element by means of a threaded ring. is.
The sealing ring has a Winkelelförini.- ges profile: one leg is used for fastening in the manner mentioned, the other leg is free and moves see ent long the metallic sealing surface 7 when the shut-off device is operated.
The spindle 8 is sealed in a stuffing box 9 and see with a handle 10 ver. Da., - Housing 1 is closed at the top by the Deehel 11. Loosening the cover enables a. Lifting the entire shut-off mechanism out of the housing and easy replacement of the sealing ring.
In the lower part of the housing 1 a small opening 12 is provided, which is controlled by a corresponding opening 13 in the lower part of the closing organ body in such a way that in the closing position the space connected to the coupling is also controlled. the outside air is connected. In the open position of the closing element (FIG. 1), the opening 12 is covered.
A spring 13 ensures that the body 6 of the closing element does not lift off from its lower support surface. The C * eli; iuse is provided with a screen 14 which, in the open position, protects the endangered side of the sealing ring from the medium flowing past.
The bottom of the housing is trough-shaped, so that water drips that escape from the conduit space when the line is shut off due to the sealing ring leaking, cannot get into the coupling, but from the lowest part of the trough through the drainage openings 13 and 12 drain into the open.
The operation of the device is as follows: When the shut-off device is open (Fig. 2), the steam flows from the line connected at 2 into the coupling connected at 3, or vice versa. The sealing body 4 is here BEZW by the metallic sealing surface 7 on the housing. Covered on the screen 14, so that 'damage caused by foreign bodies carried along by the steam or by the abrasive effect of the steam or water itself are prevented. Since in this position the sealing body is surrounded on all sides by the same pressure, it assumes its natural shape in which it has a certain distance from the sealing surface.
Therefore, if the handle 10 is moved over from the open position into the shut-off position, the sealing body moves past the metallic sealing surface without contact.
However, if the sealing body has reached the blocking position, the opening 12 in the bottom of the housing is open at the same time and the steam present in the space connected to the coupling puffs out into the open; this results in a pressure difference between the housing space on the inlet side and the housing space on the outlet side, the sealing body expands elastically in the transverse direction and lies against the metallic sealing surface in a sealing manner.
In this position, the body 6 of the closing organ is loaded by the pressure of the medium. This pressure, however, is transferred to its lower and upper bearings, so that the resulting frictional resistance during movement, corresponding to the small diameter of the bearings, is only small. On the other hand, on the sealing surface 7, only that friction has to be overcome which is generated by the contact pressure of the sealing body 4. Because this pressure is not greater.
than the pressure of the medium on the ring-shaped contact surface between you device body 4 and sealing surface 7, the total frictional resistance is signifi- cantly smaller than that of the slides known design.
The shut-off mechanism therefore has relatively little resistance to movement. In the case of an ordinary slide, the frictional resistance of the slide is dependent on the size of the Sebieber surface within the sealing strip.
The trough-shaped design of the housing bottom has the purpose of preventing water droplets emerging from leaks from getting into the coupling; This prevents the unused (locked) coupling from freezing over drop by drop if the shut-off device is leaky.
The shape of the sealing body, and in connection with it the sealing surface, can of course be different. If the sealing body, as in the case shown, is a circular ring, the metallic sealing surface must be spherical. If, for example, this sealing surface is to have the shape of a cylinder, the sealing body can have the shape of a curved rectangle.
The advantages of a shut-off device of the type described over a me-metallic sealing consist in the almost complete tightness even under the greatest pressure, in the easy mobility, in the absence of any regrinding of the sealing surfaces, and in the exchangeability of the sealing body. When using such shut-off devices at the ends of the main steam line of railway vehicles testify, in which case a heating coupling hangs on each shut-off device, the freezing of the unused coupling is prevented.
