Des formes d'exécution de l'objet de l'in vention sont, à titre d'exemple seulement, illustrées par le dessin annexé; dans lequel: La fig. 1 montre en section verticale une forme d'exécution du dispositif amortisseur d'après l'invention, adapté à la douille d'une lampe électrique à filament; La fig. 2 illustre en section verticale une deuxième forme d'exécution dans laquelle l'élément en caoutchouc est également contenu dans ladouille elle-même d'une lampe électrique; La fig. 3 est une section verticale d'une autre forme d'exécution dans laquelle l'élément en caoutchouc est également contenu dans la douille;
Shock absorbing device for lighting apparatus. The present invention relates to a shock-absorbing device for lighting apparatus, intended for example for electric lamps, incandescent; it can also be adapted for use in the case of gas lighting apparatus by incandescent sleeves. Until now, the use of electric filament lamps and gas lighting apparatus with incandescent sleeves had disadvantages in places where they were subjected to vibrations, and in particular in trams, factories, etc. . The present invention relates to a damping device intended to obviate these drawbacks.
The damping device according to the present invention is characterized by an annular rubber element joined by each of its two peripheral edges respectively on the one hand, to the body of the lighting apparatus to be supported and, on the other hand, to the support to which said lighting apparatus is usually screwed, so that these two parts are elastically connected by the aforementioned rubber element ,. For the application of the device to electric lamps, the mounts for the fixing of the rubber element with respect to the parts connected by it can be constructed in such a way that said rubber element can either be arranged outside of it. the lamp socket, or be contained in said socket itself.
Embodiments of the object of the invention are, by way of example only, illustrated by the accompanying drawing; in which: FIG. 1 shows in vertical section an embodiment of the damping device according to the invention, adapted to the socket of an electric filament lamp; Fig. 2 illustrates in vertical section a second embodiment in which the rubber element is also contained in the socket itself of an electric lamp; Fig. 3 is a vertical section of another embodiment in which the rubber element is also contained in the socket;
Lf es i g. 4 and 5 illustrate in vertical section a modification of the damping device according to fig. 1 in which the rubber element consists of two superimposed flat rings with the interposition of an air space; Figs. 6 and 7 are views schematically illustrating various methods of mounting the rubber member of the type illustrated by Figures 4 and 5 from the different positions of the lamp and showing how these various mounting methods modify the action. of the device in a manner appropriate to each position; Fig.
S is a vertical section showing an embodiment in which the rubber element is also made up of two superimposed flat rings with the interposition of an air space, the case is con tained inside the sleeve itself an electric lamp as in the case of fig. 3, and FIG. 9 is a vertical section showing an embodiment intended for a hard gas lighting apparatus of the type called: "inverted nozzle.
In the execution hole illustrated by FIG. 1, the rubber element 1 consists of a simple thin washer pierced with a hole in its center and the inner periphery of which is pressed between a shoulder 2 surrounding the base 5 of the ordinary bush and the flange 3 of a fitting 4 screwing into said bush 5. The outer periphery of the rubber element 1 is pressed between a peripheral shoulder 11 of a metal cup 7 with a threaded rim 10, and the flange 8 of a flange ring 9 internally threaded and coming to be screwed on the edge 10 of the bowl 7; the latter is in its center provided with a sleeve 12 which can be screwed onto the end of the ordinary support to which the sleeve 6 is generally attached.
In this way, the socket 6 in which the lamp is screwed is suspended from the rubber ring 1 and the latter is itself suspended from the bowl 7 fixed to the support. A thin ring 13 of asbestos or other heat resistant material can be placed against the underside of the rubber ring 1 to protect the latter against the action of heat.
In the embodiment illustrated by FIG. 2, the outer periphery of the rubber ring 1 'is pressed against a circular shoulder 18 of an enlarged portion 15 serving. base to the socket 6 'by means of a flanged ring 16 19 threading into an internally tapped edge 17 of the enlarged base 15. The inner periphery of the rubber ring 1' is attached to a threaded fitting 20 internally and externally by means of a flat ring 21 screwed onto said connector 20, a flat washer 22 being inserted between this flat ring 21 and the ron delle 1 '.
The fitting 20 is of suitable size to screw into the end of the ordinary support tube in place of the socket itself.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 3, the outer periphery of the flat rubber ring 1 "is pressed against a circular shoulder 23 of the base of the socket 6" by a corresponding annular part 24 of a metal cap 25 screwing onto said base of the socket. socket 6 "and having at its center an circular opening 26 in which can slide with play a connector 27 to which the internal periphery of the flat ring 1" is fixed by means of a flat ring,
this connector 27 being ta raudée internally and being able to be screwed onto the end of the ordinary support instead of the socket itself.
In the embodiment illustrated by FIGS. 4 and 5 the rubber element is constituted by two superimposed flat rings 30 having annular hollow 31 in their adjacent faces so as to leave between them an air space 32. The outer periphery of this rubber element is, as for the element of FIG. 1, fixed to a metal bowl 33 with rim 36 by means of a flanged ring 35 aimed at this rim 36 of the bowl 33, and the latter is in its center provided with a sleeve 34 which can be screwed to the hard end ordinary support 29.
The socket 6 of the electric lamp is suspended from the center of the rubber element by means of a fitting 38 which is screwed into a thread 37 of the socket 6, in combination with a flat ring 39 which is screwed onto said fitting, but the mounting of these parts relative to the two flat rings constituting the aforementioned rubber element may vary according to the position of the lamp, as illustrated in FIGS. 4 to 7.
In fact, thanks to this arrangement, it becomes possible to modify the mode of attachment of the rubber rings 30 and, consequently, to vary the damping action of the device so as to put the latter in a position to work in the same way. best suited to each of the different positions p ossi Mes.
When the lamp is in the position shown in fig. 4, which is the most common, it may be advantageous to place the flange of the connector 38 between the two rings, and the flat ring 39 so that the inner periphery of the lower rubber ring only is pressed between said ring. flange and said ring.
When the lamp is placed in the vertical position shown in fig. 6 is the ring 30, closest to the bottom of the metal bowl 33; which is the lower ring, and it may be advantageous for the inner periphery of this ring to be pressed between the flange of the connector 38 and the flat ring 39, said ring 39 being for this purpose placed between the two rings 30 .
When the lamp is placed in the horizontal position shown in fig. 7, it is favorable that the inner peripheries of the rubber rings are both pressed between the flange of the fitting 38 and the flat ring 39 as illustrated.
It is easy to imagine that the increase in flexibility of the rubber rings 30 at the location of the depressions. annulars 31, and the air space 32 formed by these hollows between these two rings 30, play an important role in the cooperation of the two rings of the rubber element. Referring to fig. 8, the rubber element is also formed by two flat rings similar to those of fig.4, but contained inside the socket itself of the electric lamp.
Except for said rubber element; this embodiment is identical to that illustrated in FIG. 3; and the corresponding parts have therefore been indicated by reference figures corresponding to those used for said FIG: 3, followed by the index. Finally, fig. 9 illustrates an embodiment of the damping device according to the invention suitable for gas lighting apparatus. In said fig. 9, 42 denotes a stamped cup provided in its center with a threaded sleeve 43 which can be screwed onto the end of the ordinary gas supply tube 31.
The rubber element consisting of two flat rings 30 'with annular hollow 31' in their adjacent faces so as to form between them an air space 32 'at its outer periphery pressed against a shoulder 46 of the cup 42 at the bottom. by means of a ring 48 with a flange 47 which is screwed onto an externally threaded edge 44 of said cup 42. The rubber rings 30 'are crossed by a tube 51 located in the extension of the pipe .41 and with respect to which their inner periphery is fixed by means of two flat rings 49, 50.
The tube 51 is adapted to carry the mount or the burner to which the incandescent sleeve is attached, and its end corresponding to the supply pipe 41 is of conical shape as indicated at 52 in order to ensure the passage of gas from the pipe 41 to the tube 51 with all the desired security, and in order to obtain the required sealing, the outer peripheral edges of the two rings 30 'are glued to the inside face of the edge 44 of the cup 42. A thin disc or a cone of mica or other heat resistant material (not shown) is suitably attached to the ring 49 around the tube 51 to protect the two rubber rings 30 'from the heat emitted by the incandescent sleeve.
