Burner for heavy liquid fuels. The object of the invention is a burner for heavy liquid fuels, such as heavy oils, petroleum, tar, fuel oil.
It comprises, like other known burners, a tube having an orifice: for air intake at one of its ends, as well as two nozzles arranged in the tube, housed one clams the other and serving , the outside to the pressurized air supply, the inside to that of the pressurized fuel as well. But it differs from it in that it still comprises a device to which the fuel exiting with a certain speed from the internal nozzle collides, which pulverizes it finely and sends it in the direction of the internal surface of the nozzle. outer nozzle where it mixes with the air passing through it, in order to have an intimate mixture of fuel and air and complete combustion.
The single figure of the appended drawing shows, in axial longitudinal section, an embodiment of the burner, given by way of example.
This embodiment comprises the tube 1 of generally cylindrical shape having at its front end a flange 1a serving for fixing a nozzle (not shown) and at its rear end a flare 1b serving to give free access to the air in. the tube 1. The latter is articulated on a support 2 so as to be able to be tilted at will.
Inside the tube 1 is a tubular support 5 having three equidistant radial branches 6 bearing on shoes 7 integral with 1. The nozzle 4 for the air is fixed in the support 5 by means of a screw. 20; it is formed by a cylindrical tube 4a connected at its rear to an air inlet pipe 11 and a nozzle 4b screwed onto the tube 4a; the pipe 11 is supplied by a compressor or an air reservoir. As for the second nozzle, 9, placed centrally in the first, it is constituted by a tube 9a and by a nozzle 9b screwed thereon.
The tube 9a passes through a bottom of the tube 4a in a stuffing box 16 and is in communication with an inlet pipe 10 for pressurized liquid fuel; this pressure can for example be supplied by a compressor forcing air into the closed tank containing the fuel. In the tubing is a filter? 1.
It may happen that the nozzle 91) becomes blocked by the passage of fuel. To unblock it, a needle 13 is provided, provided with a handle 14 and guided in the tube 9a by a portion 15 of t_ri- a.nbulaire cross section. The handle 14 passes through a bottom of the tube 9a clans a stuffing box 17 and is provided with. the exterior of an operating handle 14a.
The nozzles 4b, 9b delimit a mixing chamber 8 in which a spray cone 24 is situated opposite the hole in the nozzle 9b, at a certain distance therefrom; it is carried by an arm? 5 integral with a ring? G threaded onto the tube 9a.
On the support 5 is screwed a conical piece 29 serving to adjust the entry of air from the rear of the tube 1.
The operation of this form of execution is as follows: The fuel arrives under pressure through the nozzle 10, passes into the tube 9ft between the latter and the handle 14, exits at high speed from the nozzle 9b and collides with the tube. cone 24 which pulverizes it and sends the droplets against the inner cylindrical surface of 4n, where they meet the pressurized air arriving through the pipe 1.1. in the tube 4a and through the annular space between the two nozzles.
The result is that the air and the fuel mix intimately, forming a sort of mist. This mixture comes out of the nozzle 4b and is ignited at the outlet thereof where it finds in eore air entering the tube 1 through the. posterior part of it between the flare. ment lb and the frustoconical part 29 screwed onto the support 5. By screwing or unscrewing the part 29, the air inlet is adjusted by lb.
By virtue of this advanced atomization of the fuel, complete combustion of the latter is obtained and the clogging of the burner is avoided. The tuvéres 4b, 9b can be drilled with several holes.
