Device for cleaning the windshields of motor vehicles. There are known devices which ken the cleaning of the windshields on motor vehicles by suction or compressed air, which acts from the engine cylinder, using a special cylinder. The drive shaft, which actuates the lever carrying the cleaning device, is moved through the intermediary of the toothed segment and rack and the piston, which is under the action of the compressed or suction air, is controlled by valves. These control and movement organs are extremely cumbersome; because it makes a multiple use of nozzles with through bores, fine mechanical processing and adjustment necessary if the device is to work.
In the event of blockages, the driver cannot help himself.
The device for cleaning the windshield according to the present invention is much more advantageous.
In the drawing, the new Vorrich device is shown in an exemplary embodiment in Fig. 1 in cross section. It is attached to the upper edge of the windshield; Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the pressure respectively. Suction cylinder with the control organs.
The cylinder a for suction or compressed air which actuates the cleaning device is clamped to the socket c of the upper edge of the glass pane d with the aid of the clamp b. The drive shaft e for the cleaner u sits between the pistons f and g and carries a fork h, which transmits the movement from the piston connector i, by grasping a pin k on the drive shaft e. The rack with the tooth segment is thus eliminated. The reversal takes place with the help of slides l and mn, which are arranged at one end of the cylinder a in bores n and o. The slide l and m are controlled by a push rod p by the piston movement inevitably by a double lever q, r. The suction air source acts on duct s.
If the slide G is now in front of the exhaust duct z, as can be seen from FIG. 2, it is therefore shifted towards the cylinder a, then the suction flow acts through duct x on piston g and there through slide 7n the duct y, which leads to the outside air leads, communicates with the space in the cylinder behind the piston f, so the piston moves from the control qr, ie in the direction of the arrow in Fig. 2. At the end of this movement, the bent hook t hits the push rod p against the guide bush in the piston f ', so that a short pull is caused by the movement of the piston.
As a result, the double lever q-r is switched to such a position that the slide l comes behind the exhaust duct z and the slide m is positioned in front of the outside air duct y. Now the air flow sucks through ducts s and z directly in cylinder a in front of piston f and, since the space behind piston g is connected to outside air duct y through duct x, the piston moves, naturally as a whole, towards the Control qr until the end t of the push rod p hits the bottom of the guide cavity w and thereby the control qr is switched back to the position according to Fig. 2. Now the suction air works again so that the piston g is sucked in and so goes the work cycle alternately continues and actuates the cleaner u, which is carried by a lever arm v, which the latter is connected to the drive shaft e.
