Description

Device for draining off liquid precipitating on a channel wall.

The invention relates to a device for discharging liquid wedge deposited on a channel wall; and consists in the fact that the wall on which the liquid collects runs down into several points, which make it possible to drain the liquid in an orderly manner.

The object of the invention is shown schematically in the drawing.

1, 2 and 3 show in a front view and in section the outlet side of a channel shown axonometrically in FIGS. 4 and 5, as is used, for example, in air humidification systems.

According to FIGS. 1 and 4, the water that collects on the wall a drips off at the tips b, which are arranged on the lowest part of the wall a, and is directed away through the pipes c.

According to FIGS. 2 and 5, the water flows along the rods d which extend from the tips b. As shown in FIG. 3, the rods d can have an angular cross section.

For better drainage of water droplets still present in the air when they exit the channel, the base h, as shown in FIG. 4, can be covered with a mat i which catches and carries away the droplets. The mat can be made of a rough material, for example steel chips, and does not need, as before, to consist of a special drip catcher provided with closely spaced tips.

In the embodiment according to FIG. 4, the air which flows through the space k is deflected downward from its essentially horizontal direction by a baffle wall e before it enters the outflow channel.

The outflow channel has neither baffles nor special guide surfaces.

The water that collects under the mat i can be discharged through a line l.

If it is a question of the discharge of a liquid precipitating on the wall of a pipeline, the same can be done in the same way as in the example described of a partially open nez channel.
