Sealing strip of to the joint of the partitioning of the partitioned mobile blades of to vapor-hulls. In steam turbines in which the rows of movable blades are partitioned by at least one dividing partition established to form several concentric rows of sections of blades and to divide the steam Operating in several separate annular streams, sealing difficulties have been found to prevent vapor leaks from occurring from one row of blade sections to to another when a vapor pressure difference exists between the rows of blade sections.
It has already proposed, to this effect, the use of trim strips connecting with axial play at the end of the aforementioned dividing partitions, but although these trim strips are effective or from the standpoint of preventing steam leaks, difficulties arise in that the assembly of the turbine often cannot take place without damaging these packing bands. In addition, due to the expansion of the roto - festant during the. operation of the turbine, the free play must be relatively large.
The present invention relates to a sealing strip at the joint of the partitioning of the moving blades of steam turbines, where the rows of moving blades are 'partitioned by at least one dividing partition established for forming several concentric rows of blade sections and dividing the vapor into several separate annular streams, but it is intended to obviate the various drawbacks mentioned above.
A To this end, the trim strip forming the object of the invention comprises a rear fixing portion and a front part over-plumbing with at least one edge arranged to cooperate with a peripheral surface of an annular part integral with the blades at the location of their partitioning so as to prevent steam leaks from a row of blade sections to </ B> another row of blade sections.
1 Figs. 1 to 4 of the appended drawing Iepl, show, to by way of example, several embodiments of the object of the invention in dries up that this is necessary to make it understood.
Referring to in fig. 1, we see that a ring or annular row of a (radial movable ibes 5 of a steam turbine is separated by a dividing wall atillLll, ' til'e 6 to form two rows of sections of concentric annular vanes î, 8, the dividing wall being situated between fixed payments 9.
10 of the turbine, the general arrangement of these parts being similar to that described in Swiss patent wl, 75268. But, at place that the seal between the rows of concentric blade sections, -, is 6tablished at the faces. side or end of the annular partition 6, it is established here on an outer peripheral surface thereof as will be seen.
In fact, the sections of interior blades 7 and the partition 6 is reduced in diagonal towards s . the ends so to for- nier annular lips Il and shoulders 12, while bands of trimmings 19 3, 14 extend, by a sui-- plumbing front part, on said annular lips 11 and are provided, in this protruding part,
of a knife cry stop arranged to cooperate with the annular lips It so to prevent steam leaks from a row of blade sections to the other row of blade sections.
Trim strips. 1a and 14, which can be made in one piece or be cut, are housed by their rear fixing portion in annular notches 16, 17 made in the fixed parts 9, 10 < / B> of the turbine and y are fixed by means of. rivets 18, Slot 17 being provided at the bottom with a shallow recess 19 for receiving a corresponding annular groove 20 provided on the rear portion of the trim strip 14.
The trim strip 13 comprises, in addition to internal ridge 15, an end edge 21 terminating with a certain axial play opposite of the corresponding shoulder 12 of the partition 6 and cooperating therewith so as to also contribute to the prevention of steam leaks from a row of </ B > blade sections to the other row of blade sections. Of course, a similar end edge could also be provided on the trim strip 14.
The fi &. 2 # 3 and 4 represent other embodiments. In these the overhanging front part of the trim strip 14 is provided with several sealing edges 15 facing the annular lip 11 of the partition transverse 6. According to fig. 2.
Its rear portion is housed in an internal notch 16 of part 10 of the turbine and y is fixed by means of rivets 21 ; following fig. 3, it is held in place in a riintire 23 made in the fixed part 10 (the the turbine, engaging ribs 222 on the rear portion of the strip serving to interconnect it with said fixed part 10.
Of course, the fixing of the trim strip could be carried out in any other suitable manner, provided that the trim strip is kept fixed in position such that it overhangs by its front part an annular portion integral with the moving vanes to the place of their compartmentalization.
