Process for the treatment of solid or liquid bodies with gases or vapors. The invention relates to a method for treating solid or liquid bodies with grasses or vapors, according to which the gas mixture which it fills the treatment space is caused to circulate over the material to be treated by a smaller amount of gas or steam supplied into the space. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for exercising this procedural rens, of which two exemplary embodiments have been given in the drawing.
Fig. 1 is a plan view of a first embodiment, partly in section; Figure 2 is a vertical longitudinal section taken on line 2-2 of Figure 1; Figure 3 is a cross-sectional view taken on line 3-33 of Figure 1; Fig. 4 is a cross-section through a chamber showing the interior of the chamber in perspective; Eg. 5 is a vertical longitudinal section through a device according to the second embodiment.
In the embodiment of FIGS. 1 to 4, A denotes the interior of the treatment chamber in which the item to be treated is located, while B denotes the item itself. The item is arranged on the frame 18 so that spaces 10, 11 and 12 remain free on three sides of the item in the chamber, preferably on two opposite sides and above the item, as explained above.
With an air supply channel 13 is be characterized, which extends along one side of the chamber near the ceiling of the Kam mer and nozzles or narrowed outlets 14, through which the air in the horizontal direction in the room 11 above half of the The material to be treated is admitted to the opposite side of the chamber. 15 denotes an air discharge duct which extends parallel directly below the supply duct and has inlet openings 16 at the bottom for the air from the chamber.
These channels are arranged in or near the upper part of the room 10 on one side of the property. An air mover 17 leads to the supply channel 13 air under a ge know pressure. An air mover is also connected to the air discharge duct 15 and is used to suck in air from the chamber. One could also use a special exhaustor; however, this is only necessary for particularly large systems or in exceptional cases. .
The material to be treated is suspended on the frame 18 in such an arrangement that airways 19 remain free parallel to the direction in which the air is fed from the nozzles 14. This air supply through the Diz- sen brings about an air circulation of the air contained in the chamber in the direction indicated by the arrows in FIG. 3, the air flowing through the space 11 above the material in the vertical direction, then in the vertical direction Room 12 on the opposite side of the chamber, continue horizontally through the goods in the spaces 19 and finally upwards in room 10,
in order to be mixed anew with the air to be supplied in the space 11 and put into circulation again. Part of the air is taken from the room 10 through the discharge duct and led off.
The moisture content and advantageously also the temperature of the air introduced into the chamber are set in the required manner for the purpose of regulating the temperature or humidity or both variables in the chamber. The means indicated below are provided for this purpose. Throttle valves 20 are used to regulate the connection between the suction or discharge duct 15 and an inlet connector 21 of the air mover. An outwardly opening fresh air supply opening 22 for the inlet connector can be regulated by means of a throttle valve 23.
These throttle valves are under the influence of a hygrostat 24 with a humidified ball, which is located in the chamber, so that it is influenced by the moisture in the chamber.
The air supplied to the chamber can either be completely fresh air or completely chamber air or a suitable mixture of fresh air and chamber air, depending on the setting of the throttle valves. For example, the hygrostat 24 can influence a motor 25, which is in operative connection with the throttle valves 20 and 2.3, so that it opens the fresh air throttle valve while at the same time the throttle valve is closed to recirculate the chamber air and vice versa.
Throttle valves, which are used to regulate an auxiliary opening for the removal or suction channel 15, are designated by 26. These throttle valves are connected to the throttle valves for the re-supplied chamber air in such a way that they are opened when the latter are closed and closed when the latter are opened.
For supplying additional moisture to the air, if this is necessary in order to obtain a necessary moisture in the chamber, any suitable means can be used, such as. B. a steam nozzle 27, which opens into the air inlet duct 21 and is controlled by a diaphragm valve 28, which in turn is controlled by the humidistat 24 with a humidified ball.
If additional humidity is required at low temperatures, water can be added instead of steam and, if particularly low temperature or very low humidity is required, a cooling ring can be used to further reduce the humidity.
At 29 a heater of any suitable type is referred to, which is applied in any suitable manner to heat the air before it is never introduced into a chamber to increase the temperature in the chamber. A steam heating device is shown in the air inlet nozzle 21, in which the heating steam admitted respectively. is shut off by means of a Dia phragmaventils 30, which is controlled by a thermostat 31, which is arranged in the chamber A or in the return duct 15 for the air in a suitable manner.
The hygrostat 24 and thermostat 31 are adapted to the hygrometric and temperature ratios that are required in the chamber, and work automatically by means of the devices described above. The temperatures and humidities on which the regulation is based can be set to different levels in different stages of drying or treatment, depending on the experience gained for a particular product.
There can also be used other appropriate devices for regulating the temperature and humidity in the chamber according to the respective requirements of the goods; however, the agents described above have proven to be particularly effective.
Instead of heating the air before it is introduced into the chamber, one could use a heating device arranged in the chamber itself or some other means to achieve the required temperature in the chamber.
In the device according to FIG. 5, the 'Prague device for the good ss in the chamber A is arranged in two parts, which are separated by a space 10a in the middle of the chamber, and the air supply channel 13a is in the middle of the chamber above this Interspace and has narrowed nozzles arranged in such a way that they dare to let air out in opposite directions towards the far sides of the chamber.
The outlet or removal channel 15a is also arranged in the space 10a at the level of the floor. In this arrangement, free spaces 11a are provided above each part of the goods and a free space 12a between each part of the goods and the adjacent side wall of the chamber, spaces 10a, 11a and 12a being spaces 10, 11 and 12 in the embodiment described first correspond. Here, open tubes 32 are provided on both sides, in such an arrangement that the air flowing out of the nozzles 14a makes its way through those tubes.
If necessary, these tubes could also be used in the embodiment described first.
The air currents caused run in the direction indicated by arrows around over the material in the space 11a, then down into the space 12a and further horizontally through the material and like the up into the space 10a, where some of the air through the Suction or discharge channel 15a is removed in the same way as in the embodiment described first be.
The application of the new procedure and the new facility. allows the treatment, for example the drying process, to be fully adapted to the nature of the goods to be treated and particularly sudden, harmful influences to be avoided without having to use all of the air in the treatment chamber in turn would have to be passed through a treatment apparatus.
