Abstract

The invention relates to a conveying arrangement comprising at least one mover (20) which has at least one magnet (19), preferably a permanent magnet, and cooperates with a drive surface (13) so that the mover (20) can be slidably and/or rotatably moved with respect to the drive surface (13) in at least two degrees of freedom, at least one protective device (40) being provided and arranged between the drive surface (13) and the mover (20).

Description

Description Title Conveying arrangement The invention proceeds from a conveying arrangement according to the genus of the independent claim.
Prior art WO 2011/138448 already discloses a system for conveying containers between various stations, the containers being received in container carriers. The system includes a control unit which controls the conveying of the container carriers, a conveying surface which is divided into part surfaces and on which the container carriers can be arranged so as to be movable, and drive means, the drive means being actuated by the control unit. Said system is characterized by a high degree of flexibility, as is required, in particular, for conveying sample containers of a laboratory analysis system.
DE 10 2007 025 822 Al already discloses a combinable surface element with a plurality of actuatable transducer elements. The electromagnetic force fields created with the device serve for controlling the effect of the force for movement of correspondingly designed objects. Objects moved in this manner can be part of a conveying arrangement which supports multiple roller elements for carrying out, in particular, logistical tasks.
The object underlying the invention is to optimize the generic conveying arrangement further in particular with regard to cleanliness, in particular for use in hygienically sensitive areas. Said object is achieved by the features of the independent claim.
- 2 -Advantages of the invention The advantage of the arrangement according to the invention with the features of the independent claim is that, in contrast, it is largely insensitive to contaminants. At least one protection device, which is arranged between drive surface and mover, is provided for this purpose. The drive surface is consequently able to be reliably protected in a mechanical manner.
The drive surface is tightly sealed, as can be necessary for the demands of hygiene in the pharmaceutical or foodstuffs industry. The protection device allows for a clear separation between the machine side or stator (oil region) and the production room in which the movers are situated. Thanks to said separation, the production room, depending on the application, can be realized as a clean room, sterile room, or a room with a certain standard of hygiene, as is extremely important precisely for packaging machines for the pharmaceutical industry. Thanks to the protection device, installations can be dealt with in the stator-side machine area without opening the production room. Consequently, the entire system no longer has to be shut down. In addition, the protection device covers gaps which could arise when combining modularly constructed drive surfaces. The cleanliness is improved as a result. Even bacterial colonies, which can form in gaps, are reduced in the production room.
Furthermore, the protection device improves the cleanliness of the arrangement which can now be dealt with using the so-called wash down method. The protection device, over and above this, dampens vibrations and possible (running) noises. In addition, solid dirt deposits can be detected in a process-reliable manner. Maintenance costs are also correspondingly low.
- 3 -In an expedient further development, it is provided that the protection device is realized in an exchangeable and/or movable manner, preferably as a movable belt. Non-metal elements (for example crumbs) which are situated between stator and mover can be taken away or conveyed away by the exchangeable and/or movable protection device. In the case of a protection device which is able to be moved, for example, transversely to the conveying direction, movers are able to be transferred seamlessly inward and outward during the operation without the movers requiring special support surfaces. The movable protection device takes over the conveying of the movers as a quasi-false floor at the edge of the planar drive. This is more cost-efficient than providing further planar modules.
In an expedient further development, it is provided that the protection device is realized as a film or plate. Said configuration is cost-efficient and, precisely in the case of a film, allows the protection device to be exchanged in a simple manner.
In an expedient further development, at least one movement means is provided for moving the protection device. Exchanging or cleaning the protection device can be performed automatically or semi-automatically as a result. The operating staff can be supported further as a result.
In an expedient further development, at least one fixing means, in particular at least one opening for negative pressure to act on the protection device, is provided in the region of the drive surface, by means of which fixing means the protection device is able to be fixed. Consequently, precisely a flexible protection device such as a film can be held in its defined position such that no contamination-prone folds or gaps can be created.
- 4 -In an expedient further development, at least one cleaning device is provided for cleaning the protection device. Consequently, once successfully cleaned, the protection device is able to be used once again for a further production process.
In an expedient further development, at least one roller is provided, on which part of the protection device is wound, whilst the other part of the protection device covers the drive surface at least in part. Consequently, rapid exchange of the protection device can be achieved in a space-saving manner since simply by rolling it out, a new cleaner portion of the protection device covers the drive surface.
In an expedient further development, the protection device is realized in a circulating manner. It is possible to realize a continuously movable, reusable cleaning concept precisely in connection with a cleaning device.
In an expedient further development, it is provided that at least one mover includes means for moving the protection device. In a particularly expedient manner, at least one mover includes at least one fixing means for fixing the protection device. Consequently, the mover, itself, can produce a relative movement of the protection device relative to the drive surface or stator. Further movement means are consequently no longer necessary. To this end, the mover fixes the protection device such that a movement of the mover brings about the named relative movement of the protection device.
In an expedient further development, it is provided that the protection device, in particular the surface
- 5 -thereof, includes a lightly sterilizable material, preferably plastics material, in particular polyetherimide and/or polyether ketone and/or polyether ether ketone. Said materials are characterized by good cleanliness and are suitable precisely for sterilizing using different methods. They are consequently suitable, in particular, for use in the pharmaceutical or foodstuffs packaging industry.
In an expedient further development, a detecting of adhering impurities on the surface of the protection device is effected as a result of monitoring a distance between mover and drive surface. The need for cleaning can be determined in a particularly simple manner without additional sensors or the like.
In an expedient further development, it is provided that the drive surface includes at least one park zone which is characterized by means which can apply a lesser magnetic force on the mover. In a particularly preferred manner, the drive surface includes at least one park zone with a separate protection device. As a result, the exchange of the protection device is possible in a simple manner as the movers can be moved into the park region where they do not obstruct the protection device. The movers are additionally able to be removed easily from the drive surface in said region, for example for maintenance purposes or similar.
Further expedient further developments are produced from further dependent claims and from the description.
Drawing Exemplary embodiments of the arrangement according to the invention are shown in the drawing and are described in more detail below, in which:
- 6 -figure 1 shows a representation of the system of the arrangement, figure 2 shows a side view with a fixed protection device, figure 3 shows a side view with a movable protection device, figure 4 shows a side view with a separable protection device, figure 5 shows a side view with a protection device which can be moved by a mover, figure 6 shows a side view with fixing means for the protection device and figure 7 shows a side view of a circulating protection device with a cleaning device.
The exemplary embodiment according to figure 1 shows a mover 20 with a rectangular basic form. A carrier plate 12 or drive surface 13 consists of multiple individual parts or tiles 16. The tiles 16 are realized in a square or rectangular manner. The tiles 16 have a substantially planar surface and are constructed in layers. The tile 16 thus includes a coil plane 18, a sensor plane 22 and a power electronics plane 24. A bus system 26, which connects the tiles 16 to a central computer or processor which is not shown, is additionally provided. Furthermore, a power supply 28 is provided with associated connections, by means of which the power electronics plane 24 or the coil plane 18 and/or the sensor plane 22 can be supplied with power. A base platform 10 describes the base element, which is to be understood as the system carrier or a machine frame. The basic platform 10 can already receive control components and power electronics. As an option, the carrier plate 12 or drive surface 13 could also already be a component part of the basic platform 10. The movers 20, which are movable relative to the drive surface 13, are arranged on said drive surface on
- 7 -the surface of the base platform 10. To this end, the drive surface 13 or the carrier plate 12 generates a drive force which acts on the mover 20 and sets it into the desired movement. The stationary drive surface 13 is preferably realized in a planar manner. The mover 20 is actuated such that it is slidable and/or rotatable in at least two degrees of freedom. Consequently, different positions can be approached in a flexible manner.
The mover 20 describes the movable element of the arrangement. On the one hand, the mover 20 serves for generating a relative movement in relation to the carrier plate 12 or drive surface 13. In addition, the mover 20 generates a force in relation to the carrier plate 12 or drive surface 13. To this end, the mover 20 includes at least one means for generating a magnetic field, in particular a magnet, preferably a permanent magnet 19 which interacts with coils 18, generating a traveling field, of the carrier plate 12 or of the drive surface 13 for generating movement. In this connection, an air gap is realized between the carrier plate 12 or the drive surface 13 and the mover 20 such that contactless movement of the mover 20 relative to the drive surface 13 can be effected. In addition, the mover 20 can comprise means for detecting a position.
A protection device 40, which can be laid over the drive surface 13, is indicated in figure 1. A park zone 42 is additionally outlined by a broken line in the front region of the drive surface 13.
To keep the mover air gap constant, it is necessary to adapt the magnetic field strength of the magnetic coils 18, which are temporarily covered by the mover 20, in an individual and load-dependent manner. For field control, Hall sensors, which are fixed on the frame, can be provided to detect the current air gap. The current mover positions can be determined absolutely
- 8 -preferably by suitable contactless linear measuring systems in the x and y directions with a resolution of 0.01 mm and an extremely small cycle time. To this end, corresponding position sensors 22 can be provided in the tile 16.
In the case of inspection runs at a lower speed and with tilting moments that are as small as possible, it is possible to identify adhering impurities on the stator surface in a process-reliable manner by means of continuously measuring the mover air gaps.
For exchanging the protection device 40, all the movers are moved into a park zone 42 which is covered with 15 an independent protection device strip which is not connected to the protection device 40. The protection device 40 can then be exchanged without any problem when the negative pressure or vacuum is switched off.
To facilitate the exchange of the mover and to avoid in 20 a reliable manner the risk of crushing, the iron flux paths of the frame-fixed magnetic coils 18 are clearly realized in a weaker manner in the region of the park zone 42 than in the regions of the active drive surfaces 13.
In the case of the exemplary embodiment according to figure 2, the protection device 40 covers the drive surface 13 or the stator. A fixed plate or a movable film is laid or clamped as a protection device 40. The protection device 40 can be fixed or movable. A non-metal and/or non-magnetic material is suitable for this in particular. A protection device 40 which is realized as a wear part, is approximately 1 mm thick and is sterilizable, preferably a film, in particular produced from plastics material, is provided to protect the sensitive surface of the drive surface 13 (stator). In a particularly preferred manner, the film can consist of polyetherimide (PEI). In the case of a fixed
- 9 -realization, the protection device 40 could consist of a thin stainless-steel sheet (non-magnetic). A thin plate could also consist, for example, from polyether ketone (PEK in brief) or polyether ether ketone (PEEK).
Looking at conventional sterilization methods, the material should also have a corresponding temperature resistance.
The exemplary embodiment according to figure 3 is characterized by a movement means 50 which can move the protection device 40. In this connection, the flexible protection device 40 could be wound and unwound in connection with two laterally arranged rollers 56. The movement means 50, such as a usual conventional drive, rotates at least one of the rollers 56, on which the protection device 40 is then further wound. The protection means 40 is thus moved parallel to the drive surface 13. Along with protecting the stator or the drive surface 13, this serves, in particular, for removing particles of dirt.
In the event of the movable protection device 40, said protection device is able to be moved over the stator surface or drive surface 13. In this case, the particles situated on the protection device 40 are removed from the stator surface. The movable protection device 40 can also be utilized to convey the movers 20 out of the machine or to an outlet opening in the event of a machine shutdown. The machine operator consequently does not have to have access to the complete conveying region. The movable protection device 40 can also be utilized to transfer individual or multiple movers 20 seamlessly into or out of the planar drive region.
The movable protection device 40 can be a wide conveyor belt, above which are situated not only the magnetic movers 20 but also non-magnetic passive elements which
- 10 -are moved by the conveyor belt or can be pushed or displaced by the magnetic movers 20. In the moved and the non-moved case, the stator surface is protected by the protection device 40 in relation to the mechanical load. In addition, it protects against dust and liquid and solid dirt.
The exemplary embodiment according to figure 4 includes a movable protection device 40 which, after fixing 54, can be severed at one end by a cutting means 52. This serves, in particular, for removal of a contaminated part of the protection device 40. The fixing 54 prevents the protection device 40 from slipping in operation.
In the case of the exemplary embodiment according to figure 5, the protection device 40 once again covers the stator or the drive surface 13. The mover 20 can now take over the further conveying of the protection device in the conveying direction 60 for the purpose of exchanging the contaminated protection device 40. In this connection, the mover 20 includes at least one holding means 58 for fixing the protection device 40.
The holding means 58 could produce a non-positive and positive locking connection to the protection device 40, for example as a result of suction or vacuum, magnetically or as a result of clamping means.
In the exemplary embodiment according to figure 6, at least one fixing means 62 for the protection device 40 is provided in the region of the drive surface 13 or of the stator. In a preferred manner, said fixing means 62 is realized so as to be releasable in order to make it possible to exchange the protection device. The fixing means 62 could be effected by means of vacuum, magnetically or mechanically (clamping etc.). The protection device 40 can be sucked onto the surface of the drive surface 13 by means of minimum negative
- 11 -pressure. For example, vacuum openings serve as fixing means 62, as indicated in figure 6, in order to fix the protection device 40 in operation, on the one hand so as to be immovable, on the other hand, however, to make an exchange possible. When the planar drive is shut down, the protection device 40 is fixed immovably by the conservative bearing forces of the movers 20.
The exemplary embodiment according to figure 7 is characterized by a circulating protection device 40 which covers the top side of the drive surface 13 and is returned underneath on the other side. At least one movement means 50 and deflections 64 are provided for this purpose. A cleaning device 66, which frees the surface of the protection device 40 of dirt, is situated to the side of the drive surface 13. The cleaned surface of the protection device 40 can then be used once again for covering the drive surface 13.
The advantages of the afore-described stator sealing can be summarized as follows. Impurities on the protection device 40 are detected by monitoring the mover air gaps. The drive surfaces 13 are sealed in a hermetically sealed manner. The protection device 40 is easily exchangeable. In addition, the drive surface is mechanically protected. With mechanical guides such as support rollers, the protection device contributes to an additional stabilizing effect for the movers 20 where track grooves are formed on the protection device 40 as a result of initial plastic deformation. Said forming process is completed after a relatively short time until a correspondingly enlarged load-carrying area of the support rollers is achieved. Vibrations and running noises are dampened.
The arrangement is a component part of a flexible conveying system for different transport applications, in particular in packaging technology for, for example,
- 12 -pharmaceutical products or foodstuffs, of both solid and liquid products. Its use, however, is not limited to this.
