Abstract
Thermostat comportant un mécanisme pour la détection d'occupants dans une chambre ou une zone dans laquelle un thermostat programmable est placé lorsqu'il est combiné avec un dispositif simple de programmation par l'utilisateur et qui permet à un utilisateur d'établir des séquences de contrôle du thermostat en fonction du temps pouvant réduire la consommation d'énergie tout en assurant un niveau de confort. L'inclusion d'un mécanisme de détection d'occupants dans le thermostat programmable permet d'en améliorer la convivialité et l'efficacité de fonctionnement en permettant au programme du thermostat d'être exécuté normalement dans un mode de séquence de température en fonction du temps établi par un utilisateur, puis d'interrompre ce mode de fonctionnement normal lorsque les conditions d'occupation changent. Lorsque le capteur d'occupation est un détecteur de mouvement, il est possible d'améliorer davantage la détermination de la température de consigne par le thermostat en faisant appel à une estimation du niveau d'activité dans une salle en se fondant sur la fréquence de détection des mouvements.
