Abstract
Un thermostat comportant un mécanisme de détection d'occupant dans une pièce ou une salle où se trouve un thermostat programmable lorsque combiné à un dispositif de programmation par l'utilisateur et servant à établir des séquences de programmation réduisant la consommation d'énergie tout en maintenant une ambiance confortable. L'inclusion d'un mécanisme de détection d'occupant dans le thermostat programmable rehausse la facilité et l'efficacité de fonctionnement en permettant au programme du thermostat de fonctionner normalement dans un mode séquentiel de température en fonction de la période réglée par l'utilisateur conçu pour une diminution accrue de la consommation d'énergie, puis en faisant en sorte que le mode de fonctionnement normal passe automatiquement au réglage préemptif lors de la détection de la présence d'un occupant.
