Abstract
L'invention concerne un système d'analyse de mouvements qui permet de saisir de manière conforme les mouvements subtils du visage et des yeux par un procédé de détection électromyographique superficiel EMG pour détecter les mouvements de muscles et un procédé de détection par électrooculogramme (EOG) pour détecter les mouvements des yeux. Les signaux correspondant à ces mouvements servent à commander un personnage animé pour présenter les mêmes mouvements exécutés par un acteur. Un mode de réalisation du système d'animation et d'analyse des mouvements concerne plusieurs paires d'électrodes EMG que l'on fixe sur la peau d'un acteur en plusieurs emplacements correspondant aux muscles concernés, et un processeur fonctionnellement couplé auxdites paires d'électrodes EMG. Ledit processeur comporte des instructions de programmation relatives à l'exécution des fonctions d'acquisition de données EMG provenant desdites paires d'électrodes EMG. Les données EMG comprennent des signaux électriques correspondant aux mouvements des muscles de l'acteur lors de l'exécution. Les instructions de programmation comportent en outre le traitement des données EMG afin de produire un modèle numérique des mouvements des muscles, et le mappage du modèle numérique sur un personnage animé. Dans un autre mode de réalisation, plusieurs paires d'électrodes EOG sont fixées sur la surface de la peau de l'acteur à des emplacements jouxtant les yeux de l'acteur. Le processeur est fonctionnellement couplé auxdites paires d'électrodes EOG et comporte en outre des instructions de programmation pour exécuter les fonctions d'acquisition de données EOG provenant de la pluralité de paires d'électrodes EOG. Les données EOG comprennent des signaux électriques correspondant aux mouvements des yeux de l'acteur lors de l'exécution. Les instructions de programmation fournissent en outre le traitement des données EOG et le mappage des données EOG traitées sur le personnage animé. Le personnage animé présentera par conséquent les mêmes mouvements des muscles et des yeux que l'acteur.
