Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de traitement de résidus issus de procédé Bayer: refroidissement et déshydratation de gaz de combustion par contact entre ces gaz de combustion et un flux d'eau fraîche, et conservation de la chaleur résultante; contact entre une solution de carbonate et les gaz ainsi traités pour former une solution de bicarbonate; échauffement de la solution de bicarbonate en utilisant la chaleur fournie par les gaz traités; contact entre les résidus de procédé Bayer et la solution de bicarbonate ainsi chauffée; récupération d'une solution de carbonate; et recyclage de la solution de carbonate récupérée par contact entre cette solution et des gaz de combustion traités comme indiqué ci-dessus pour former une solution de bicarbonate.
