Abstract

Un support de mèche ignifuge (10, 400) destiné à une bougie est fait d'un matériau correspondant au moins au classement V-0 de combustion verticale selon UL-94, qui comprend des polymères (p.ex. polyéthersulfone, polyphénylsulfone, polyvinylchloride, polysulfones) et des matières céramiques. Le support de mèche sert de support à une mèche (30) dans la partie inférieure d'une bougie (100). Grâce au matériau de support de mèche, la flamme sur la mèche s'éteint dès qu'elle atteint le support, ce qui élimine le risque d'embrasement du combustible restant de la bougie à la fin de la vie utile de la bougie.
