Abstract

L'invention concerne un système et un procédé permettant de réduire une crête de signal dans un système de communications à spectre étalé du type comprenant un filtre destiné à limiter une largeur de bande de symboles de signaux émis à partir dudit système. Une unité de réduction (122) de crête de signal est placée devant le filtre (126) qui comprend un prédicteur de filtre (146) prédisant l'effet dudit filtre sur les symboles de sortie à l'aide de valeurs de coefficients de filtre correspondant à une fonction de réponse d'impulsion de filtre. Des symboles d'entrée prévus de façon à amener le signal de sortie à dépasser une valeur de crête prédéterminée sont réglés. L'invention concerne également plusieurs exemples d'algorithmes appropriés pour calculer la réduction de crête nécessaire à appliquer aux symboles d'entrée. L'unité de réduction de crête fournit des symboles réglés au filtre destinés à être traités et émis en sortie par le système de communications.
