Abstract

L'invention porte sur des compositions absorbantes de polymères servant à absorber les fluides corporels tels que l'urine, le flux menstruel, et autres, et en particulier sur des compositions de polymères échangeuses d'ions à lits mélangés présentant d'excellentes performances d'absorption en matière de capacité d'absorption sous une pression de confinement de 0,7 psi et/ou de 1,4 psi. Certaines de ces compositions présentent d'excellentes propriétés d'absorption non seulement pour de l'urine de synthèse dont la composition et la concentration en ions sont caractéristiques de celle des nourrissons, mais également pour de l'urine de synthèse à forte concentration en ions dont la composition et la concentration en ions sont caractéristiques de celles de l'urine des bébés et des petits enfants. L'invention porte également sur des éléments absorbants incluant lesdites compositions de polymères échangeuses d'ions à lits mélangés, et sur des articles comportant lesdits éléments.
