Abstract

La présente invention concerne des améliorations apportées à un appareil de rétention. L'appareil de rétention est utilisé afin de maintenir une administration de substance dans un passage ou une cavité corporelle d'un animal durant des périodes prédéterminées, en particulier dans une cavité d'accès facile et comprenant le vagin, l'utérus et le rectum. Une telle rétention est requise lorsqu'il est souhaitable d'administrer chez l'animal, à partir du dispositif d'administration, de manière régulée, des substances dans le cadre de programmes d'intervention chimique et/ou hormonal. Les substances administrées peuvent comprendre des agents antiparasitaires, des suppléments nutritionnels, des vaccins, des hormones, et ainsi de suite. L'appareil de rétention comprend un appareil de positionnement afin de maintenir le dispositif d'administration dans une position préférée dans la cavité de l'animal et un appareil de retenue afin d'empêcher un retrait non désiré de l'appareil de positionnement et du dispositif d'administration de substance de la cavité. L'invention est caractérisée par une partie de l'appareil de retenue attachée à un emplacement préféré sur la surface extérieure du corps de l'animal à l'aide de moyens d'attache.
