Abstract
Un faisceau relativement étroit de rayonnement électromagnétique HF ou optique explore une plage azimutale relativement large. Le signal de retour est traité pour détecter la plage et la vitesse de chaque point de réflexion. Chacune des cibles sont fait l'objet d'une identification par une analyse (102) par la théorie des grappes, et d'un suivi (106) dans un système de coordonnées cartésiennes au moyen d'un filtre de Kalman. On évalue (116) les risques concernant le véhicule en fonction d'une cible donnée à partir d'estimations relatives distance - vitesse - taille de chaque cible, et un ou plusieurs véhicules sont commandés (120) en fonction de l'évaluation des risques de façon à améliorer la sécurité de l'occupant du véhicule. Selon une réalisation préférée, un signal HF à onde continue, modulé en fréquence, linéaire, quantifié est transmis et reçu par une antenne multifaisceau dont la plage azimutale est d'au moins 100 degrés et la largeur du faisceau individuel d'approximativement 10 degrés.
