Abstract
L'invention concerne un procédé qui permet de préparer des composés métallocènes contenant du titane, notamment des complexes de titane à géométrie contrainte, utiles comme catalyseurs de polymérisation des oléfines. Selon l'invention, on convertit le tétrachlorure de titane en trichlorure de titane par réaction avec un composé métallique dans un solvant neutre, de façon à produire un mélange qui peut être directement utilisé pour la réaction avec un ligand métallocène déprotoné. Les composés titanocènes produits selon l'invention sont dépourvus de traces d'aluminium risquant de perturber la réaction de polymérisation.
