Abstract

L'invention concerne un système de communication numérique par réseau de câblage non téléphonique (220) (par exemple, réseau de distribution de lignes de transport d'énergie préexistant) permettant de fournir à des utilisateurs (210) les services d'une ligne téléphonique. Le service de ligne téléphonique est "à la demande" dans le sens que n'importe quel utilisateur peut brancher un appareil téléphonique sur le câblage électrique (220) et obtenir instantanément une ligne téléphonique. Ce système permet aux personnes qui ne désirent pas payer une ligne privée de bénéficier de services téléphoniques primaires et secondaires. Pour ces deux types de services, le numéro de téléphone associé à la ligne peut être attribué par la compagnie de téléphone ou l'entreprise publique, ou bien être un numéro unique par raccordement fixe de chaque téléphone à connecter sur le câblage électrique (220). Un identificateur, suffixe par exemple, permettant d'acheminer les appels destinés aux ou provenant des lignes téléphoniques supplémentaires "à la demande", peut être attribué à ces lignes.
