Abstract

ABSTRACT
A form table comprises a form skin supported by a plurality of parallel beams bearers arranged transversely to the beams and legs mounted on the bearers which are pivotable against the underside of the table, the bearers forming the pivots for the legs mounted thereon. The table thus occupies little space in its collapsed state.

Description

This invention relates to a form table. Such form tables are known, and as a rule, the legs are jointcd. Construction is correspondingly expensive in the region of these joints which, on the one hand, must be so pressure-resistant that they can support the form and absorb the weight of concrete and, on the other hand, must allow easy movement. These leg joints are situated underneath the reinforcing of the form skin, so that when the legs are pivoted inwardly, the form table still takes up a relatively large height and consequent-ly require significant storage space. Ilandling of the forms is also awkward and hence expensive since each leg must be actuated individually.
The present invention provides a form table comprising a form skin supported by a plurality of elongated members, bearers arranged transversely to the elongated members and legs mounted on the bearers which legs are pivotable against the underside of the table, the bearers simultaneously form the pivot for the legs mounted thereon.
The pivot for the legs is higher than in the prior art devices, so that when the legs are pivoted inwards the form table takes up a smaller height.
Furthermore, separate joints for the individual legs are avoided. Also the necessary loading capacity of the swivel connection thus provided is produced automatically, since the pivot is simultansously designed as a beam.
It is desirable for the bearers to have a circular cross-section, at least in their fastening region, the bearers preferably being tubular.

Z

The desired pivotability of the legs may thereby be obtained especially easily owing to the mounting of the bearers in tube sleeves or tube pieces. In so doing, the bearing sleeves or the like for the bearers may be mounted on the elongate members, for example reinforcing beams.
The legs may be connected either releasably or fixedly, preferably welded to the bearers. When one leg is pivoted, all the other legs mounted on the same bearer are then also pivoted.
The supporting structure of the form table according to the invention allows an especially advantageous development which consists in that the bearers are telescopically extensible. The width of the form table may thereby be adjusted in a desirable way. In this case, the bearers have a threefold function in that they serve for reinforcing, for width adjustment and, finally, as pivots for the legs.
The adjustability may be realised in a way known per se if the tube parts engaging in one another are provided with rows of hole5 through which passes at least one securing member such as a crossbolt.

,~,, The legs may also be provided in their upper region with at least one inclined reinforcing strut, the reinforcing struts engaging on the same bearer, for example support tube or tube member, as the legs.
On the whole, a simple and easily operated construction of a form table with legs pivotable on both sides is obtained, whereby in an advantageous way due to the operation of one leg also at least one further leg may be pivoted simultaneously and as small an overall height as possible may be achieved for storage purposes. Correspondingly high parapets may be arranged in front of rooms in which work is carried out with such a form table.
Sleeves serving as bearing points for the support tube may rest between guide stops which pro~ect from the support tube, for example are welded on the outsides of the tubes, so as to prevent axial movement of the support tubes relative to the sleeves.
The invention is further described in detail hereinafter with reference to the accompanying drawings wherein, shown partly schematically:
Figure 1 is a side view and Figure 2 is a underneath perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of a form table according to the invention with legs situated in the functional position, and Figure 3 is a side view of a wider form table according to the invention.
- A form table 1 comprises a form skin 2 horizontal in the functional position, a plurality of elongate members in the form of beams 3 supporting said form skin and extending parallel to one another, two parallel bearers 4 arranged transversely to the beams 3 and four legs 5 mounted on the bearers 4.
The bearers 4 provided for the mounting of the legs 5 also form the pivot for the legs 5 mounted thereon, so that the legs 5 are pivotable about the axis of the bearers 4 in the direction of the double arrows Pf 1, provided that this pivotability is not prevented in a way yet to be described.
In the exemplary embodiment the bearers 4 are in the form of support tubes having a circular cross-section, due to which the double function of being able to serve, on the one hand, as rigid a bearer as possible and, on the other hand, as a pivot may be achieved in a particularly simple way. Provided as a bearing for the support tubes forming the bearers 4 are tube sleeves or bearing sleeves 6 which are fastened to the reinforcing beams 3. Figure 2 shows clearly how this leads to a very simple construction.
It will be seen primarily in Figure 1 and by comparison with Figure 3 that the support tubes forming the individual bearers 4 are each telescopically extensible. For this purpose, each bearer 4 consists in the exemplary embodiment of three tube members 7 and 8. The middle tube member 7 enters the two outer tube members 8 and the legs 5 are mounted on the outer tube members 8. If one or more of the middle beams 3 together with a piece of form skin is removed, the entire form may be made narrower in comparison with the illustration of Figure 1 and may be made wider with a reverse operation. The bearers 4 thereby acquire a third function.
In the exemplary embodiment the legs 5 are each welded to a respective tube piece 8. However, a releasable connection would also be conceivable, if dismantling w~re desired in individual cases.
Figure 2 shows that two parallel bearers are each provided with two legs. This results in a stable form table with which the pivoting inwards of one leg 5 simultaneously moves the other leg fastened to the same bearer 4.
Handling is consequently simplified.
In their upper region the legs 5 each have at least one, in the embodiment of Figure 3 two, inclined stiffening struts 5a which each engage on the same tube member 8 as the leg itself. In so doing, they lie substantially in the same plane as the legs of a bearer 4.
For the purpose of width adjustment the tube members 8 each have rows of holes 8a through which a securing member such as a crossbolt (not shown~ may also pass through the tube piece 7.
Provided in the exemplary embodiment as a lock for each leg 5 is a locking strut 9 which may engage with one end releasably on one of the beams 3 supporting the form skin 2. In this way, there is obtained with a relatively large lever arm a good fixing which with corresponding bracing allows precise mounting and additional stiffening. As shown in Figure 2, the locking struts 9 are arranged in a plane lying substantially at right angles to the form skin and to the plane occupied by the legs 5 of a bearer 4, and project upwardly from the legs 5 diagonally to the inside of the form table. The struts 9 are connected to a respective leg 5 at a joint 10 and to a beam 3 at a joint 11. Furthermore, each strut 9 may be rotatable about its longitudinal axis in relation to its swivel joint 10 situated on the leg 5 and/or to a hinged connection 12 to the beam. Adaptation to different fastening conditions is thereby possible. Normally, however, the arrangement of the leg fastening and of the fastening of the strut relative to the form skin will be constant.
In a way not shown in detail, it is provided as a safeguard against axial displacement of the tubes forming the bearers 4 that they each have guide stops for the bearing sleeves 6 which project on the outsides of the tube pieces and may be welded thereon.

~L~

The form table 1 according to the invention requires relatively few individual parts due to the fact that the profiles used as bearers are also utilised as pivots for the pivotable legs, so that manufacture is simple, whilst subsequent operation, also, is simple due to the fact that by the pivoting of one leg the adjacent leg, also, is pivoted. Moreover, there is obtained the noteworthy advantage that the pivot for the legs lies as near as possible to the form skin, so that when the legs are pivoted inwards the entire form table 1 occupies a correspondingly small height. Nevertheless, width adjustment of the form table is also possible in a simple way.
